Dunno whats bad about the graphics, with a game of this scale you can't expect Gears level of detail. Im more interested in finding out what system it was delevoped for and what ones getting the port over. Be better to get the system it was developed on as the performance will likely be a bit better.

How the fuck are the graphics shitty? You either want a large sandbox game, or you want GTA: FPS City with maybe 5 or 6 mobs on the screen at once, and loading every 5 seconds. You think GTA: Vice City or San Andreas were like they were graphically because that was the extent of the engine? It had to be that way.

it looks awsome, i cant wait to play it on my 360. its based on newyork city right? so will the map be pretty close to the actual city?

compared what i read of them using the table tennis engine for GTA4. the table tennis was pretty bad ass.

stupid:[/quote:9aca2] with regard to the GTA series... unless GTA goes before PSX, then I lose |
I wouldn't really say theres been a console which defined THE massive leap in graphics. Nes to snes brought about big improvements in graphics as did mastersystem to megadrive (genesis). Snes certainly was the more impressive of the 2 later on with games like donkey kong country. Nintendo 64 introduced the first proper 3d game in mario 64, but before that snes and megadrive had games like starfox and virtua racing which was the start of games becoming 3d (long before the playstation ever hit the market).
Its impossible to say really because all the consoles represent different eras of technology. |
If you go back and look at the N64, the graphics are pretty horrible. There were games that looked better in 2D for the SNES than what the N64 put out. Not to say there weren't great looking games for the N64 (Ocarina of Time), but overall it wasn't that big of a change.
I'd say the 360 put a huge leap forward, especially once we got a glimpse of what the developers will learn to do with the system in Gears of War. Take a look at Bioshock coming out for the 360 and PC and it's absolutely amazing. For any game on any system, I'd say Crysis is going to be the biggest leap of all. Bioshock may be a close one, but I'd be willing to bet almost every developer is going to be pumping out new engines after Crysis comes out, just to try to compete with that game. |
