WRONG. We have had 1, yes 1 marine die in combat, and everybody else who had dies was in accidents.

No, now the count is at 4

Proteus 03-22-2003 05:53 PM

*Update*

You guys hear about the guys in kuwait that got blown up by Iraqis with grenades?

10 wounded, 6 seriously.

[AWITS]Cpl.Maxwell Klinge 03-22-2003 05:53 PM

I believe casualties are something like this now..

2 in fighting near oil fields and a village near Basra
4 killed when their Hummvee were hit by RPGs in an ambush today.

Totals for accidents and combat is 7 American and 14 British in last report from CNN.

You forgot the Marines that died in the chopper crash, there was four I beileve. And there was a chopper collision today, with 1 american and 4 Brits I think. So your number is wrong...and I havent even heard about the RPG ambush.

Blitz-krieg 03-22-2003 05:56 PM

Right now, they said terrorists penetrated into the 101st Airborne base and use hand grenades... 10 wounded, 6 seriously... damn, could it be al quada?

[AWITS]Cpl.Maxwell Klinge 03-22-2003 06:33 PM

You are right Vance I forgot about that one..its so hard to keep track of everything that is going on...

The 4 in the Humvees took place about mid morning/afternoon....They were traveling in 2 Hummers with 2 per vehicle when Iraqis fired RPGs at the Hummers destroying them...

I also I saw a video on CNN of a suicide car bomb that was set off in Iraq destroying a checkpoint and killing a TV news cameraman..The US said that it was done by an Iraqi terrorist group said to be linked to Al-Quaeda.

Vance 03-22-2003 08:39 PM

Well now they are saying the 4 that were in the humvee are injured and not dead

[AWITS]Cpl.Maxwell Klinge 03-22-2003 09:00 PM

Well thats good to hear...

Now they are saying that an American Soldier is being detained in connection with the grenade attack on the 101st.

imported_Fluffy_Bunny 03-22-2003 09:28 PM

I hear a 101st officer has been arrested over the grenade affair.

I also heard that the ITN newscrew was fired on by allied tanks because they entered a combat zone. IMHO I think they got wasted by the allies and the Generals are covering it all up. If they were killed by allied tanks then it would be all over the news and the anti war freaks would have a field day.

I spose we will found out in due course.

Milla 03-22-2003 11:28 PM

It was some 101st guy, pulled the pin threw it into the command tent and shot the guys coming out, they got him in custody, found him hiding in a bunker wounded. And i thought the 4 3rd ID guys in the hummers died.

why would he do it?

Milla 03-22-2003 11:37 PM

They say battle stress, or some shit like that.

Chronic Diarrhea 03-22-2003 11:40 PM

No excuse. He should be shot for treason.

Low spark 03-22-2003 11:49 PM

The New York Times is reporting the 1 soldier was killed and 13 wounded.
Also they are saying the soldier being held is a sargent, and a muslim convert.

Drew 03-23-2003 12:20 AM

I think this thread should be locked, since it is obviously abiding by the rules, but has been replied to by people who don't?

Harlen Maguire 03-23-2003 02:36 AM

An ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commision) cameraman was killed by a suicide bomber driving a taxi cab, way up in the north of Iraq... near the border with Kuwait...

If anyone cares, I'll post the articles later...

Milla 03-23-2003 02:43 AM

If your in IRC than u already know the decent sized skirmish the Marines are having. If u aint in IRC than u are missing a nice battle, live footage of tanks blowing the hell out of a building.

Simo Häyhä 03-23-2003 09:33 AM

B-52s are still bombing in iraq..damn that plane is 50 years old and are still brining hell to the enemy. i belive its the old warhorse of the airforce. may it be bless with 50 more years of combat biggrin:

MrLevinstein 03-23-2003 09:34 AM

Why fix something when its not broken? I dont think it will see more than 15 more years of combat, after all theres new technology coming out all the time.

Captain Bunny 03-23-2003 09:57 AM

There is no easy way to say this so ill just right out and say it.

Ah fuck sake not again.

this fucking sucks!

On each night of the war, there has been a fuck up resulting in mostly British deaths! Shit like this better not happen again tonight

Simo Häyhä 03-23-2003 10:27 AM

Dammit! I hate when things like this happen. For God's sake. . .I hope they stay tight and a feeling of mistrust doesn't erode performance. The Brits and Americans are going to need to remain a cohesive force. Resistance is stiffening as they get closer to Baghdad. God be with those pilots and their families. hake:

10 US soldiers apperantly are being held as POWs by Iraqi troops.

Oh sheet.

Yeah, the guys made a wrong turn heading to a maintenance assignment. If the Iraqis have any sense, they will treat those prisoners fairly, like we have been treating their prisoners. God help them if they cross the line.

03-23-2003 10:41 AM

Which they will.

They executed some of the prisoners already. According to people who have seen the tape. Gunshot wounds to the head.

Captain Bunny 03-23-2003 01:25 PM

The Tornado pilots are MIA, it isnt confirmed if they are KIA. So WHY did one of the british commanders say "we will put this behind as as quickly as possible and contnue with our objectives"

Shouldnt their priority (at least for the brits) be to find the pilots?

A searce and rescue team isnt going to hinder the advance.

Old Reliable 03-23-2003 02:09 PM

intrestedviewer 03-23-2003 04:48 PM

intrestedviewer 03-23-2003 04:50 PM

omg ed: al jazeera http://www.aljazeera.net/news/arabic/2003/3/3-23-23.htm poor bastards, i feel sorry for all these poor guys. God help those that are alive and being tortured.

intrestedviewer 03-23-2003 05:16 PM

since that site is so far away it takes 4ever to load so if u wanna see i hosted the pics i found on their site http://picturencrap.freeservers.com/images/pow.jpg

Arkan 03-23-2003 05:35 PM

What a shame. Those guys were executed...you can see from the pics that they were deliberately shot after they were captured. Thats the problem with fighting a country like Iraq....they have no morals. You can bet that the Iraqi POW's are being treated fairly.
Those pics were shown by that arab news station on purpose as to shake the coalition moral while boosting the moral of Iraqi soldiers. It certainly was a tough day for the coalition but they'll press on and get the job done.

Whatever your political views, you should pray for the innocent victims and soldiers.
