TonyMontana 05-12-2004 10:45 PM

gotta love da flames

Pyro 05-12-2004 11:07 PM

I can't let calgary win...they had 89...they had their cup!

ninty 05-12-2004 11:12 PM

California doesn't need Stanley, nor does Flordia. Maybe Philly deserves a cup, but I'd rather have it in Canada.

Pyro 05-12-2004 11:20 PM

Toronot deserves the cup!

ninty 05-12-2004 11:21 PM

Your options are:

1)Calgary
2)San Jose
3)Tampa Bay
4)Philadelphia

Tampa deserves it, you may think...hey they're from florida...most of the team is canadian if I am not right. You are going to say they don't deserve a cup just because there team is located in Tampa?

Martin St. Louis > Jerome Iginla

ninty 05-12-2004 11:34 PM

It's Jarome.

And absolutley Calgary fans deserve it more than TB. Without a doubt.

If you go by that logic, Toronto deserves it more than anyone else.

ninty 05-12-2004 11:53 PM

No way Toronto fans are any better than Calgary fans. For 7 years we didn't make the playoffs, yet we always had an attendance OVER 15,000. Last year at the last home game the Flames got a standing ovation from everyone in the dome for a losing season.

Calgary fans during this playoff run chant go flames go before the game starts. Calgary already tied for noisiest building ever at 113 decibals. There has been over 100,000 flames flags for cars sold.

So by fan support, I would bet anything that this year the flames fans are #1. In previous years, I know they would still be up there in the top when a lot of fans wouldn't care. A lot of teams, especially in the states, when they lose the fans have other teams to go to. Basketball, baseball, football, nascar oOo: etc. Once a team loses, the fans move on. In Calgary that doesn't happen. Hockey is life.

Anyway, this argument is gay and pointless. My opinion is that both the fans and the team of Calgary deserves this run.

Pyro 05-12-2004 11:55 PM

I haven't seen a seat empty in a toronto maple leafs arena in my entire life.

Pyro 05-12-2004 11:55 PM

you act like that doens't happen here.

ninty 05-13-2004 12:04 AM

I don't know. I've never been to toronto. But toronto is also a big market that can afford big players and has a city of like 5 million. fitting 19,000 people into a stadium out of a city of 5 million seems pretty easy to me. especially when the team spends money.

And I don't know if it happens there. I've never been to toronto.

Pyro 05-13-2004 12:32 AM

it must be easier there. It is impossible to get a single ticket in toronto for the playoffs.

Zoner 05-13-2004 06:40 AM

Unreal! 2-0 in the series.

Decisive win last night. Iginla is the best player in the NHL right now, man. He's flying out there.

exarctly...

plus half the people in the front sections aren't even fans, just people getting spoiled by business relationships... there are die-hard leafs fans, but you would never see a sea of blue in the ACC... flames fans are fuckin nuts!!!... more power to them...

Pyro 05-13-2004 01:23 PM

it's cuz everyone is poor in calgary and can get tickets.....I guess we can't help we have the richest people in canada living here.

If everyone like me was allowed to go to every playoff game like Jeff is being able too, you'd see the same thing.

Zoner 05-13-2004 01:25 PM

^ ...and some people question why everyone in Canada outside of Toronto hates Toronto. rolleyes:

The center of the universe is not the GTA, I hate to tell you.

Go Flames.

It should be.

I've been there. It's a big faceless place. Good for you. oOo:

I'll take Newfoundland, thanks.

The GTA is pretty big to of been to every part of it. So did you like chingcousy Park at least?

bukdez 05-13-2004 01:31 PM

the Hammer rules, we need an NHL team... create a nice 3-way rivalry in Ontario, and another with Buffalo, imagine how many games we could see, tickets would be almost free...

Zoner 05-13-2004 01:33 PM

I hate the SkyDome and the CN Tower too;
I hate Nathan Philips Square and the Ontario Zoo!
The rent's too high,
The air's unclean,
The beaches are dirty,
And the people are mean!
And the women are big and the men are dumb
And the children are loopy 'cause they live in a slum!
The water is polluted and the mayor's a dork!
They dress real bad and they think they're New York...
In Toronto . . . !

-- Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie

That about sums up my T.O. experience. I wanted to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame, but I had to endure choking traffic, even more choking smog, and sweaty people screaming at each other before I got there. I was so pissed off once I got to the HHOF, I didn't enjoy it as much.

Fuckers need to relax and get out of an urban environment.

Pyro 05-13-2004 01:35 PM

I find living in a suburb boring enough...if I had to live in a rural palce i'd kill myself.

Zoner 05-13-2004 01:38 PM

Me too.

Anyway, this is about hockey...which neither Toronto, Ottawa, nor Newfoundland is playing right now.

Is the Flyers/Tampa game tonight or tomorrow night?

Zoner 05-13-2004 01:42 PM

beer: ...

TonyMontana 05-14-2004 10:29 AM

ahah yeah, i saw that yesterday but forgot to post it here.. thats an awesome deal, beer is so expensive at hockey games. thats a great deal

ninty 05-14-2004 10:35 AM

Yeah, too bad people WANT to go to hockey games in Canada, and don't have to be persuaded. Otherwise we could all have free beer.

Pyro 05-14-2004 03:10 PM

calgary had what 7000 a game when they started...they sure dind't w3ant to go then.

If you cared about hockey you don't wait till the team is decent, you care right away!

I'm pumped baby. My grandfather is taking me to the game tonight. And Pyro, this will be my 3rd game. The first one I went to my father managed to get tickets from someone he buys supplies from at work. The second game I managed to buy on ticketmaster, and this game my grandfather knows a guy who used to work at ticketmaster. I've been trying to get tickets to EVERY SINGLE home game, yes the only time I was able to was game 6 against detroit, and that was just luck of the draw. Tickets for round 3 sold out in 12 minutes. The only place they sell tickets is online. Not on the phone or at any ticketmasters or at the box office. They did this because people were lining up for days for tickets and fights were breaking out when people rushed the line.

Anyway, i'm enjoying it. You can see me on TV. I'll be the guy in the red flames jersey wearing a green flames hard hat drinking beer.
