Im doing that now gerv, hopefully it works, takes fucking forever to move these files.

It didnt work gerv, it still locks up and loops sound when it locks up.

Gerv, HL2 is locking up to, the sound seems to stutter when something semi loud happens. Also when ever theres a bright flash on the screen, like in the beginning of HL2 when the creepy guy is talking to you than you are in the train and the screen goes white, it locks up. Also if i get flashed by one of those flying things and it makes that bright white flash on your screen, it locks up. Any ideas?

Hm not really sure, what catalyst version you using? Might want to use an older version just to see if it makes any difference.

Im using 5.9 or whatever the newest one is.

Try bunging on 5.8 or something, dod seems to have a few quirks associated with it, one fo them being the game crashing for no reason.

You got the latest motherboard drivers etc? usually the ones that come with the board will be months out of date, might want to also try updating those, and sound card drivers etc so everythings as upto date as it can be.

Doom 3, CoD 2 demo they run beautifully, i mean everything cranked up in 1280x960 or whatever it is. No hiccups.

check the steam forum ... ive seen shit about that in the dod forum i think. sound loop lock ups. or google "sound loop lockup" +hl2
