akuma or somebody, is this powersupply good enough to run dual 7800gtx?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817103941

Akuma 12-12-2005 08:26 PM

It should be fine, but I don't like Antec PSUs. Check out Enermax, Seasonic, PCP&C, or OCZ.

Himmler 12-12-2005 08:35 PM

Akuma 12-12-2005 08:55 PM

Not many top PSU brands there...

But I'd definitely get the Antec TrueControl II 550W[/url:0ee74] or Antec Neo HE 550W[/url:0ee74]

The good thing about this board is theres a slot for an expansion board that will accept the new socket m2 chips as well. beer:

Was considering a dual core but they seem kinda dodgy, some games wont work properly with them, if you;re gonnna try overclocking its rare that both will be stable at the overclocked speed. Just prefer to get this 2.4 and add watercooling to it at a later date. happy:

I have a gigabyte board and its nice cause it comes with this software where i just hit the up arrow a few times to over clock the cpu...it gives me like a little warning bar it goes from blue, to green, to yellow, to red (dangerously hot) so im like on the first bar in the green. I have no idea wtf it is, im to lazy to look.

Doubt its temp related, prolly more like red for really high overclock blue\green for small overclock.

Forte 12-22-2005 02:47 AM

my dad got a christmas bonus this year. so I may be getting a new computer in the coming months.

KTOG 12-22-2005 12:04 PM

Just got all my parts and my new comp is up and running for a measly $590 bucks.

AMD 3200+ Venice 64
Biostar Mobo Nforce4 chipset
PNY 6600GT 128mb PCI-E
Antec Sonata II case (cool exaust pipe)
Antec Smartpower 450w PS
2x512mb Corsair Dual Channel DDR

The rest i just cannabalized out of my old tower. Runs like a damn dream for so cheap. It also came with over clocking software and the CPU is running at 30C just on air.

Considered a shuttle system? Basically motherboard case and psu in one small box, add the hd\cpu\ram\dvd and memory and thats it set to go.

Forte 12-25-2005 11:14 PM

I need some help. I my computer isnt letting any sound go out. I have tried both the integrated sound card and the Creative Audigy 2Z. They both let sound go in but dont let any come through the headphones or speakers. I have tried downloading drivers but I cannot find the correct ones.

Milla 12-28-2005 08:06 PM

im trying to install a dvd-RW drive, i removed my old cd-rw drive (it was my slave) my master is a regular dvd-rom drive. When i remove the slave and put the new dvd-rw drive in (to replace my old cd-rw drive), my comptuer loads, boots up gets to the desktop, loads everything than it reboots every single time. even if i disconnect all the drives except the new dvd drive and make that a master it still reboots itself. But when i hook my old drive back up it runs fine. Any ideas?

geRV 12-28-2005 08:08 PM
