Ha! ^

I solved my AA problem by changing the AA settings in the CCC to 'Let the application decide' and setting it in-game. (Previously I had it set to 'off' in-game, and x4 in the CCC.)

The game seems tempremental or the cc is, i had it set the opposite way, then today fsaa was missing so i set it to app pref in ccc and 4x in the game and it worked. oOo:

Have you noticed if anisotropic filtering make much of a diff in game? Don;t really think ive noticed any difference with it on or off.

Not sure, ive tried a few different driver revisions and finally went back to 5.6 which seem to work. Although when playing the game will appear to crash after a few minutes then resume playing normally untill i exit out and start playing again.

It's hard finding a good Heli pilot, I perfer to gun and use the guided missles but I can never relie on the idiot pilots who think they are playing DC and can strafe with the helicopter and pull up in less than a second.

rolleyes:

You need a good heli pilot ? I'm your man. Albow can testicle... errrr, testify! eek:

dr nein 06-14-2005 11:58 AM

I've become a pretty good pilot and I strafe, though that's mostly because my gunners have been idiots who wanted to learn how to fly but didn't get there fast enough. I ended up flying without a gunner 90% of the time yesterday because they kept bailing out.

If there's something to use a hellfire against, like artillery or a T90, I'll line it up. Otherwise I'd just be asking to be hit. I was only hit by a missile once during an hour of flying before I even learned what the flare key was.

Helos are very easy to shoot down with the 12.7mm guns, though I seem to be the only one who has discovered this. Bagged 5 in a single match alone yesterday with it. If you fly along without doing any stunts you're just asking to be hit.

EA blacklisting servers

Word on the street is that those running hacked servers (time limit, unlocked weapons etc) are being removed from the server list on the in-game browser. I'll let VE3D explain the deal:

Admins are up in arms today as EA has apparently begun to blacklist Battlefield 2 demo servers that are running without timelimits and/or with all weapons unlocked. While the unlocking of weapons reserved for the full game may be pushing it a bit far (EA did however include all assets for these weapons in the demo, just begging for someone to unlock them), both modifications are enabled with a simple one-line alteration any novice could do in an unencrypted file.

EA has backed the mod community since the release of the Battlefield 1942 demo, but failed to warn of the consequences if the demo was modified, or in fact state that it was forbidden. To make matters worse, EA is failing to respond to requests for comment, and blacklisted servers can only return to the server list by changing I.P., a move that many hosting companies charge for.

Update: This was just posted on our forums, a response from EA to someone enquiring about their server:

"Modification of game files is against the EULA. Action will be taken against all users who modify game files. We will not tolerate "hackers", anyone who modifies server files will have their IP addresses banned and they will not be able to run servers for Battlefield 2. This will last for one month from the date that the user with the IP address was caught."

Nice one EA eek:

TGB! 06-14-2005 08:24 PM

Lol - what they mean is you cant run a SERVER that EA will allow to show up in their piss-poor browser.

Fuck em.

Stammer 06-14-2005 08:26 PM

What a bunch of cunts, the refuse to admit that they fucked up by putting it in there in the first place.

plzdie:

Seriously I'd be fucking pissed off if I was paying for a 64 person server and these idiots blacklisted me and I only got a few people in my server daily.

dr nein 06-14-2005 08:32 PM

GG EA. Yeah, people are going to cancel their preorders if they allow this to continue. When you have no time limit on a single map and can use the unlocks ea put in the demo who needs the full game?

ninty 06-14-2005 09:20 PM

what a bunch of cocksmokers.

m00nraker 06-15-2005 04:15 AM

I heard that All Seeing eye doesnt use EA's master list, so when an update come out for ASE, you can still see all those servers.
