[quote="ED! Ban #127":e382e]There is no second Matrix. In the scene, THE ARCHITECT mentions ZION and THE MATRIX as two seperate entities. It's there in SLOI's copied speech as well. He says that WITH the destruction of the MATRIX AND the fuck up of THE MATRIX humanity is lost, which would lead one to assume that ZION operates on a seperate level.

Still, the machines ARE in control of ZION, because it's existence is allowed.

However The One is NOT a product of CONTROL but a product of reoccuring "anomoly" - unbalance - within the programming of the matrix that CANNOT be erased, but simply mitigated. So while THE ARCHITECT does exercise a great deal of control here, THE ONE is ALWAYS the wild card.

And other ONE's are referenced earlier in the film by the MERG (French baddie). He talks about NEO predeccers being more respectful and boasts he will out last NEO as he outlasted the others.

And this movie DEFINATELY needs to be seen more than once to appreciate it.[/quote:e382e]

So true.

Make sure to also see the Animatrix (full thing, not just those 4 episodes available for download) and also perhaps play Enter the Matrix, which is actually pretty damn cool, for a console game that is, not PC.

Great movie, it starts off way to slow for me, but the fight scenes were amazing, and the best scene in any movie ive ever seen was the freeway scene. /me drools

I agree on everythign u just said... I also thought it started off slow, and the freeway scene was fockin nUTS

It starts off slow simply because there is a need to set things up - but do you realize how SHORT the "slow scenes" are.

I've seen people complain about the "rave scene" being too long and whatever - the fucking thing is 2 minutes. Maybe they are lumping in Morpheus speech, but that couldn't have been another 3 minutes total. Sad when 5 minutes of "inaction" is too much for others to handle.

Having said that - I think alot of the negative opinions of RELOADED stems from the fact that there is ALOT of information to take in, and it seems like NOTHING happens.

Couldn't be further from the truth. There is SO MUCH in this film it's not even funny, it's simply in what the characters are saying and your ability to connect the dots and come to your own conclusion. I'll admit that the end came a little too "abrubt" for me - like it was just dropped out of nowhere with that TO BE CONCLUDED (which didn't really piss me off because we KNEW it would end like that no doubt with REVOLUTIONS coming in NOVEMBER).

However the answers behind the scenes are alot. Here's just a few things I feel are there:

One - the machines cant completely control the humans. The existence of the "anomoly" confirms this. While the machines, or rather The Oracle, recognized humanities need for "choice" (overlty, or covertly), they still dont have humans figured out as subtle human perception allows folks to question their existence. What is there beyond. We know whats beyond - the real world.

Two - rogue programs. This could be a fourth MATRIX movie in and of itself. ROGUE programs working to overthrow the MACHINES from the inside; or having a war with each other. I know I'm not the only one who is wondering about the identity of the VIRII/VAMPIRES/TWIN's. Since all programs were creating for SOMETHING (controlling flight patterns of birds, sunset, taste of chicken, etc.), what were THEY created for?

Three - NEO has been changed genetically. How this happened we dont know, but as he exhibited he has the ability to "communicate" on some level with the machines in THE REAL. I dont believe that is THE MATRIX, nor was it some sort of EMP pulse. The MACHINES shorted out, and there was no EMP-blast. His understanding of THE MATRIX has reached a level where he is able to "restart life" taken in THE MATRIX.

As far as SMITH's change - he is now another "exile". A program (created to stop the rebels) that no longer has purpose, or desire to complete his function. I'm still interested in how they'll explain this and HOW he got to the source without using a key. Very interesting.

Sicilian_Summers 05-19-2003 03:11 PM

Good points Ed.

I'm almost convinced that Neo did not set off an EMP. What actually happened is something that we cannot understand now, but come November we will. After looking at scenes from the first movie, when Morpheus sets of an EMP charge at the end when the squids had breeched the Neb, it was a much larger, more visual almost nova-like ring. Neo's "blast" was just a few lightning like bolts.

No one can be certain exactly what has happened to Neo, but there has obviously been a monumental change within him that will alter the course of events yet to come.

Regarding the machines: I think the Mergovingian was programmed to guard the key maker. Unless I'm mistaking the Mergovingian were an ancient order dedicated to the defense of the Holy Grail. I do believe the key to the source and to the fate of the world is just as important as the Holy Grail. :)

I also believe the Merg programmed his bodyguards, he did notion to the fact that he had the ability to program as shown through his orgasm producing cake. :)

Also, the Keymaker was referred to as an exile, however, I do not understand why this is so. He fulfilled his purpose as he said - which is to make keys. His path coincides with that of the One, he is an inevitable stop on the road taken by the One.

Also Ed, when was it said that Smith managed to get to the source without a key?

And lastly, I thought it was interesting how Morpheus, in the first movie, refers to the Agents as "The Gatekeepers". Pretty odd how Neo's final battle to reach the Architect was with an Exile agent program.

November will be here soon :(

i have got to see the first matrix again,

as for Neo and the EMP blast.....they just had to do that to us at the end of the movie, just to make us wonder and wait for the next movie

with Neo doing that blast thing, it makes it hard to belive that they are in "The Real" world

1080jibber 05-19-2003 04:43 PM

i just read this in another forum

[quote:fbe98]The World of Zion is another simulation, and Neo knows it and refuses to show it because of the Oracle.[/quote:fbe98]

is that the 2 matrix theory everyone was taking about?

you should see a movie called "stalker" it's got like a scene that's about 20 minutes and it shows a polluted river with bottles, cans and such. the camera moves along and it just keeps going, i thought it would never end. during that entire scene i must of taken a crap already

Bazooka_Joe 05-20-2003 08:45 AM

Just found this out: The reason Tank didn't return to the second movie, was because his part was cut from the cast. He was originally sopposed to be the pilot again on the NEB, but was replaced by Link on a last minute basis. Because of this, Marcus Chong (Tank) is sueing because he had a verbal & written agreement to be in the second film.
