Hey geRV on that post...is that running any AA and/or AF? Cause if not mistaken, doesn't AA and AF settings draw ALOT from your Memory? Just wondering is all. Im running it with 1.5 Gigz and not too bad. Not as good as you guys are of course. But still wondering all the same. Thnxz

AA and Af uses video ram, doesn't affect sytem ram.

yeh especially at the end.

Zoner 08-08-2005 10:21 AM

Yup. Of course the little sting in the music when you see her helped ease a bit of piss out into my shorts too. Bastards.

haha yeh.,..or right in the beginning when you go down into the parking garage, and she runs accross, i wouldn't have noticed her at all if it wasnt for the damned music.

Akuma hows it run on your 6800? Im asuming the nvidia boards may run it a little better seeing as they have that ultrashadow 2 tech to reduce the load shadows create. Might put my gt into this pc to give it a try later, if i can be arsed.

Akuma 08-08-2005 01:52 PM

Not great. 1280x960 stretched to 1680x1050 (not sure if that makes a difference) with everything high and I usually get around 30 fps. It easily gets down into the teens in firefights when the particles start flying.

Although I have 4xAA/8xAF forced in the drivers which I'm sure is the reason for the huge performance hit. My GT just isn't fast enough for FEAR at that res with AA/AF.

geRV 08-08-2005 02:00 PM

Yeah might run better at the standard 1280x960 res. I feel like putting my gt into this pc to try it out but laziness > me. loney:

How can this be possible when there is a clear problem amongst BF2 users running AA and AF with lower system memory ''empty win32 module bf2'', they obtain an error. Can read some more about that here: http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r ... ~days=9999

[code:861ed]I have two pc's one with 1.5gb of memoery and the other with just 1 gb and I have the problem with the 1 gb of memory??? So it might be a virtual memory problem?

Specs on the problem PC
3.6 P4
1GB kingston Hyper X
Raid 0 74gb raptors
PCI Express X800XT 256mb
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS

Specs on PC that runs ok
3.2 P4
1.5GB just kingston value memory
250gb sata maxtor
ati 9800 pro agp
soundblaster audigy 2

For me I love realism games and mods so i really dont care for BF2.. The sounds blow and even the graphic blow what a arcade type of game...Cant wait for FH2 to come out!!!![/code:861ed]

Not arguing, just trying to learn the difference is all.

That errors meant to be punkbuster related, something about punkbuster being loaded into virtual ram and the program basically not liking it. Best to close everything before starting the game and close any memory horing background tasks to avoid this.
