AJ Hackett.

No, my sister has, and plenty of people I know, but I'm not the extreme sport type.

In that case, take care not to get sand in that vagina while tanning at the beach. biggrin:

What the fuck else could you possibly think is more efficient than a firearm when self-defense is in question?

I don't know, every situation is different. I have no doubts that a pistol is the most "efficient" form of self defense, but is it so necessary? Never once in my life have i been in a situation where pointing a gun in someones face seemed logical.. i just don't see how carrying a gun around everywhere you go somehow makes you that much 'safer.' And i don't see how pulling a gun out can make a situation any better.. there are unlikely exceptions of course, but it still does not justify - in my mind - the need to carry around a gun. spank:

Give them my wallet.

Are you banking on them leaving you alone or physically intact because you complied with a few of their demands? Not a good idea, as you assume too much and leave your wellbeing in their hands.

In any situation where your life could be in danger, run if you can: if that's not an option, fight back or die. I would never assume a criminal would leave me unharmed after getting what he/she wants, hence the need for an equalizer.

It's not really about logic: it's about not taking chances with your life by putting your future in their hands.

Sloi you crazy republican. What shit end of Harlem are you living in that you need to carry a gun on you at all times? Some people may need one if they're in a bad area I would imagine, but if you're rich enough to own enough shit to protect with a gun chances are you're not living in an area where you're likely to be robbed. It's every American's right to own a gun, but I don't think you need to carry one on you at all times... if that was even the argument...

Smoke two joints in the morning...

MY guess is if I pull my gun, his will go off faster, or ill have a knife in my eye..... Better yet he shot misses and hits one of my kids or wife...... in 99 % of the cases you give them what they want and htey leave you.

I'm referring to self-defense in general, not necessarily concealed carry at all times bro. :)

Besides, canadians don't have the right to defend themselves... it's kind of a joke, but it's also true.

Back up those statistics with hard numbers because last I read, the above was nowhere near true. In any case, you have to use your own judgement, obviously... the point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't be a sheep all your life. It's important to make a stand and defend yourself instead of being passive and hoping the "bad guy" (who is BAD by definition) won't hurt you.

Short Hand 09-01-2006 02:15 AM

-I am not being a fucking sheep. I have a backbone. rolleyes: . Your petty insults will not change the fact that I take the logical response in this type of situation. I bet you don't even know of the psycological impact it has on you after you shoot somebody do you... ?

-AND IF he plans on hurting you he will do so and having a gun won't do you any good. He will have already blasted your head in, and have what he wants. MOst muggers use the strong hand tactics and really have little or no intention of hurting you, all they want is your wallet. JUST give it to them, it can be replaced, your life or the lives of those around you can not.

Hypocritcal statement.

For what it's worth, I'm with Solidus on this. It may not be viable to draw a weapon in every scenario, but I would much rather have a gun on me when I would need one because people who don't have one when they need one don't usually live to tell people about it and that kind of biases the statistics towards "the robber won't usually kill you".

Honestly, there's a reason they check for stolen items on dead bodies for possible motives.
