Got a really good review, that and the fact that it supported pci express and agp meant i wouldn't have to replace my vid card as soon as id thought.

Im going for the DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D. ONly thing im slightly concerned about is ive read of a few people having trouble plugging in their gf cards since the northbridge fan is right a the end of the pci-e slots, then again some others have said it fit perfectly and their cards sit a few mm above it.

Pretty weird place for a chipset hsf. eek:

Jin-Roh 01-17-2006 05:52 PM

^ the best MOBO available, right? I don't even know how to compare MOBOs. eek: oOo:

geRV 01-17-2006 06:01 PM

Dunno if its the best available but its probably one of the better ones, seems to allow pretty high overclocks.

Pretty weird place for a chipset hsf. eek:

Chipset doesn't interfer with cards at all. It doesn't even come close to hitting the bottom of a card. The only bad thing about the placement is that is gets all the heat from your video cards.

Well ive seen a few people post that their x1800 actually wouldn't slot in properly because of the chipset cooler. They re-seated their motherboards and 1 of them got it fitted, the others was still interfering with it.

Anybody that uses ZoneAlarm firewall.

I seem to run into this problem alot, when my pc is idle and goes to the screensaver or monitor shuts off, when I resume use, zonealarm doesnt allow ANYTHING to connect, I see the red bar flash constantly, I check and nothing is locked as far as email or internet access.

anybody run into this/know a fix/know another free alternative for a firewall?

Good or Bad?

DFI LANParty UT RDX200 Radeon Xpress 200 Crossfire

I'm lookin and this is the only DFI mobo I see on a here: http://www.gamepc.com/shop/custom.asp?rig=titan300

I really would only plan on getting ONE ATI Radeon X1900 XTX

Is that MOBO necessary? eek: oOo:

geRV 02-01-2006 08:13 PM

Its a decent mobo from what ive read but the usb transfer rates are meant to be bad on it. That radeon express chipset hasn't exactly the best reputation with most of the hardware sites either, although a new improved version of it is coming this month sometime (rd 580).

Better off with a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D, or wait to see how the rd580 performs.

Forte 02-14-2006 01:05 AM

how do I check my PSU's wattage? I am upgrading my graphics card from a 5200 to a 5900 XT.
