Its exactly the same fucking thing as people wanting to wear their favourite sports team shirts. To show off that they support the team. Yeah I also wear a poppy and its not because I fucking have to its because of of the following:

1) Lest we forget, - remembrance of those that died for US.
2) To give money to the RAFA - people that are dedicated to supporting the victims and the victims families of war!
3) Because I fucking want to wear a poppy to show my support!

i'm in the woodward lofts, infact, i can partially see your building. tonight i walked up to the top of the whitney building, it was beautiful (i would have grabbed some shots but it was raining). tomorrow we're heading back to get some pics, and than over to the police station, and train station. it's going to be a long day of walking but hopefully the shots are worth it. detroit isn't as bad as i thought it was, but being asked every 3 minutes by a bum for spare change can get a bit depressing.
