Ok, I'm on this amazing part right now, you see, I can call in airstrikes from above with this red knob and that can like, kill enemies and stuff. In this screenshot I just captured you'll see the in-game phsyics demonstrated in full effect as the wall gets blown to pieces

Just had a friend round tonight playing hl2, this guys a complete console geek and hates pc games. Needless to say after seeing the physics in action and playing it his jaw has yet to leave the ground. biggrin:

so i got a 2.4ghz p4 processor with about 776 megs of ram with a geforce 4 mx. how well will this game run on it? should i upgrade my video card?

ran that. i got 3 or 4 bars higher than the minimum pc.

Well as I stated in my last post, I've been playing it on my p4 1.5ghz, 1gig sdram and a geforce 2 ti older pc and it's very very playable, you can scale things down alot.

You could play it fine on that but its up to what you think is fine, just a guess but i'd say you could have it at 30-40fps on your machine easy. mine is running on 800x600, low detail and its giving me bout 20-30 fps, i thought it'd give me 4 fps. I'm not usually into playing on ugly mode but its only temporary as I'm awaiting a cable for my radeon 9800 pro to arrive so i can stick in my p4 3.0ghz beast.

Get a Radeon 9800 pro maybe or save up for more, however, you'r cpu seems a fine speed for hl2, anything under 1.5ghz will struggle when the action heats up.

Okay, I am pretty sure this wasn't posted on here before, but this might solve a few people's problems. I haven't tried it yet (uh, don't have the whole game yet), but it should work.
