Martin is a good coach...it's the lack of heart that the players have which is why they lsoe. They will not find a better coach than Martin my bet.

Pretty entertaining game from all sides. Lots of chances, lots of hitting. Good ol' hockey. This will be a great series. TB is going to come out even harder next game though.

Does anyone know why "Habby-bull-on" (Didn't want to attempt to spell his name) always twitches his right eye? EVERY TIME the camera zooms in on him he's twitching.

Even the guys on the TB message board don't know the answer to that one.

Just got these sent to me from a friend in Calgary. Apparently, this is legit. Read the letter and look at the images after:

The letter:

The pics:

rock:

ninty 05-27-2004 12:02 PM

Yeah, it's legit. I saw it on the news and i've read about it on a few message boards. Just a freiendly wager between mayors. I'm just glad we didn't have to fly the SJ flag at City Hall.

========

On another note, i just got a DVD in the mail off ebay that came from michigan. On the invoice it reads "Boo Flames Boo". I thought that was funny.

Zoner 05-27-2004 12:56 PM

Oh, it could have very well been this time. I just wasn't looking for it. biggrin:

bukdez 05-27-2004 03:05 PM

seems like the mayor of SJ is a good sport, nice to see that a rivaly can be in good fun... although he did kinda get owned....

Nyck 05-27-2004 03:09 PM

Panthers Hire Martin...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1809702

ninty 05-27-2004 03:12 PM

Martin seems too nice to be a coach. Well I guess he does something right holding on to a coaching job for 9 years.

anyway...

Its like its from the Calgary special education school yearbook

ninty 05-27-2004 03:47 PM

I have no idea.

He grew up in St. Albert, just outside of Edmonton, so it's probably from their yearbook or something like that.

"CBC drew 3.063 million viewers for Tuesday's broadcast of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final, making it the second-highest rated NHL game ever for the network. Only Game 7 of the 1994 final between Vancouver and the New York Rangers drew more viewers, with 4.957 million tuning in to watch the 3-2 Rangers win."

This recoprd is going to be broken before we're done I bet.

Thats Canada remember, not the states.

"It was a different story in the U.S., where Tuesday's game tied for the lowest-rated Stanley Cup final game on ESPN since 1990. Game 1 was watched by an average of 1,013,000 people. That translates into a rating of 1.1, which is down from 1.4 for last year's first game. Of the 34 Stanley Cup final games the network has televised since 1990, only Game 2 of last year's series between New Jersey and Anaheim had a rating as low. "

3 million people in Canada watch the game - thats 10% of the entire country. Thats pretty high. As for the states it was 1 million which is what? 0.004% I believe.

Just imagine if 2 Canadian teams made it. Like Edmonton - Toronto or Vancouver - Montreal, EVERYONE would watch that sucker.

Pyro 05-27-2004 06:23 PM

Well if toronto made it to the cup in 1993...to play Montreal...I'm sure if that happened that total would of never been broken...

When the leafs make it...soon I hope...it will easilly beat that record.

bukdez 05-27-2004 07:42 PM

yep... i agree Leafs final would draw over 5 million easy... but, good job Flames...
