This looks like the memory for me.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820145579 and this hard drive looks like the one too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822148103 plus this powersupply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817153021 and then this dvd/cd drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827106014 that would work with the motherboard I have selected? What would you guys reccomend in the lines of cooling? I know nothing about that. then have all that fit inside this case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811180031 (forgive my questions this is the first time I have attempted to seek out all the parts for a pc) |
Forte, instead of the CD/DVD drive you bought I would recommend just buying an all in one CD RW R +- / DVD R RW DL +- drive for an extra $20. I bought mine in November when I put together my computer and it has worked fine. Although I've only burned 1 CD and 1 DVD it seems releatively quick.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827106014 EDIT: Also, allow yourself a ton of time to build it if this is your first time. I put mine together over a Turkey-Day break and almost brought it to a store because I was so lost and aggrivated. Luckily I kept at it and had it working on the first try ed: |
I have some friends that are going to come over and help me. I know what I am doing as far as installing the graphics card and all that jazz. No clue when it comes to the processor, mobo, power supply... basically everything except the simple stuff.
thanks 9mm. I updated my post with that drive. I think I will change the mobo and HD too now that I think about it. |
You HAVE to buy something unnecessary Forte, please, please, please, please!

You misinterpretted it. I was assuming that it was an older, needs work constantly kind of Saturn. I was wrong, it turned out to be 2004 and in great condition. I AM thankful for be able to use the car for about a month. However, it was taken away due to my grades. He was going to take it away anyway, because my grandma's car crapped out and she needed it more than I did. On topic: Is the DFI Infinity Ultra better than most others (besides Ultra-D) - or is there a better mobo for under $100? |
was looking further into cards, and the ATI X800GTO2 sounds good, that after tweaking it can reach x850xt marks, any good then?

Im upgrading the components in my computer and need to know what I should get, what I should be looking for.
Right now: K7VTA3 Motherboard SiS or some shit. No PCI-E. AGP Chaintech 6600 AGP vid card (stutters even with a reliable power supply, not all the time but it happens - have to reboot system when it does. . .this occured even WITH a 500W powersupply in there with all the +12V bullshit - gonna sell it to some asshole online) AMD 2100+ or so CPU. 1GIG PC3200 DDR200 (is that right. . .fuck if I know what the two numbers mean) ram. So - preferably I would like a MOTHERBOARD that supports the ram I have so that I dont need to buy 2gig of PC7800 DDR1MILLION ram and can just get another DDR200. CPU - I would be cool with a 2800+ or so. What should I be looking for? As for what I would like: Motherboard - should be able to fit in an ATX tower. Not looking to upgrade case. CPU - no fucking clue. Both above should last be able to last me for awhile, to accomodate future Vid Cards should the need arise. Video Card - Anything that can run shit at 12x10 without having to jack shit down to LOW. |
[quote="TGB!":2e7e1]Piss off - Im a mod I can do what I want. Including locking this thread, and editing it to be you talking about smearing yourself with Peanut Butter and having the Lithuanian Geriatric Society lick it off you - how about that tough guy?[/quote:2e7e1]
Issues much? Mobo - Get an nForce 4 Ultra CPU - AMD 64 4400+ Video card - nVidia GeForce 6800 GT |

[/quote:4aa7f] Motherboard: simple! Get the latest Asus that supports PC3200 RAM. CPU: These guys are on crack... unless you plan on doing CPU intensive tasks, I don't suggest anything higher than an AMD64 3700+ (socket 939, so make sure the Asus board supports them) Video card: Ati X850 Pro should suffice. Powerful enough for most games, not too expensive either (I got mine in Canuckia for 300$, so it should be 250 or less for you) |

I hear the X800 XL is better than the X850

This threads getting some action over the last coupleof days eek:
First off, x800gto 2 from ocuk comes pre unlocked to 16 pipes,. its just a matter of you setting the core and memory clock with ati tool, and seeing as its an r480 core you should at least get x800xt-pe speeds from it. Saying that id still say to get an x1800xl or 7800gt, x800 isn't getting any younger and is starting to show its age in some games. Eds pc: Depends on how much you wanna spend: Motherboard = DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D cpu = 3800- single core or a better dual core varient, since games are starting to use dual core (quake 4-cod2) its probably the better investment as well as being better for multitasking in windows. Graphics, 7800gt\x1800xl, 2 newer cards supporting all the new buzzwords like hdr\sm3.0. x800 series while still good is starting to look crippled in games like fear so theyre kinda out of the window in terms of what id buy at this stage. spank: |

shiiiiiiit
the graphics card I want is out of stock......cuss: What should I do here? buy everything except the graphics card, and build the system without it, then when it is in-stock just buy it and pop it into the already built computer. Or should I just wait and get it all in one fell swoop? |
