Murph, The belt is made of stamped sheet Metal and it is in link strips containing slots for 50 round each, belts can easly be linked together to make a belt however long you want it to be.

Like Hell I would give you Crap Murph http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

correct me if i am wrong, and i could be, but wasnt the early MG-34 belts made out of leather....? i thought i read that somewhere, but i know the MG-42 belts where made of a light metal...

Bürgen 08-28-2001 06:25 AM

well I have never heard that! Possibly on an MG.08 (maxim) or a MG13 or 15 but I doubt that too. so where did you hear that I'd like to send that person a nasty letter (he he)

actually it was on the History Channel. i believe they said something like:

"the less durable leather belt used for German Machineguns early in the war was soon replaced by a light steel belt."
