ANTI LEANING MOD!!!!! HELP NEEDED!!!!!!!
Hi, I dont wanna start another argument about leaning, alls I want is a bit of help.
As you know not all people appreciate leaners in the game (leaning whilst running that is) so I want to create a server side mod that will disallow leaning whilst running. Only problem is, I dont know how to go about it. So if some clever person out there tells me how I can go about doing this, then I'll put in the time and make the thing. Thanks! cool: cool: cool: cool: P.S. I heard that this will be diallowed in spearhead any way, but I wanna create something for in the meantime, plus not everyone out there will buy spearhead and people may prefer to play the orig game. |
im not complaining but nobody will visit ur server. just a sugestion biggrin:
it might be a good idea but because not to many ppl dont like leanning (lol) u wont get a wide range of players |
I respectfully disagree, Im not alone in my disliking of leaning, if no-one was bothered then why would ea address this issue in spearhead?
WHOS WIV ME!! swordfight: |
I don't think you'll lose many players on your server because of a leaning mod. I for one think thats a cheesy move anyway. You should only be able to lean while not moving. I never saw a person in my life lean and run at the same time.
|
Thanks, see I told ya folks agree! lol cool:
|
Dunno about you but I lean when i'm running around corners irl. Perhaps you should just wake up and open your eyes when you watch someone running.
|
Yes but when u run round a corner you only lean one way - normally into the corner - how many people do you see that can lean 45 degrees right then left then right then left in quick succession whilst running - try it - you'll fall on your face
|
i find when people run and lean, that if i lead my crosshair in the direction of thier lean, they actually lean into the shot.... also if you lean the same direction, it negates the lean, or else duck and shoot at the torso, they can't lean from the waist down! (i said lean 6 times, no...wait, 7)

The only reason EA disabled leaning while moving in Spearhead is because of the lean/strife issue. They are too stupid to know how to fix the problem with two binds, so instead, they disable leaning while moving.
|
Right, I appreciate your opinions fellas, but I didnt want to start another "we love / hate" leaning topic. I want to make a mod to stop leaning whilst running. So if anyone can actually help me with my original request, then please leave a message or pm or or something.
Cheers cool: |
EA aren't going to totally disale the lean strafe thing - its going to be up to admins whether to allow it or not - seeing as spearheads gonna be released in about 2 weeks time why not just wait till it comes out - saves u working on a mod
|
I don't think you'd be able to disable the leaning on a server-side mod because it's part of a config. You might just have to stick to booting players who lean.
On a side note - I have seen people lean while running and firing (paintball) and it is totally legit evil: |
I would play that server! If you figure it out let us know. Cant stand the leaning. Go for it!!!

That sounds pretty cool, but like I said originaly theres gonna, be folks that dont get spearhead and others that will prefer the orig game, so it will be for them.

I am unsure how you go about doing it, but good luck. I run a Sniper Only server and I have a no excessive/binding leaning rule and I get about 300 people a day joining my server. Most people follow the rule and keep coming back due to me having this rule in effect, the others that argue with me about it get kicked. I hope you stick with it and don't listen to the guys telling you people won't play on a server with no lean/straffing.I have proved that wrong with 3 diff servers now.
