The explosions suck,Dod explosions where great! You think the Retail ver will have te better one?
|
Well I agree that the grenade explosions need a little work, maybe someone will make a weapons mod or something. But the arty and mortar shells are incredible. You've seen the beach landing right?
|
Actually I find the grenade explosions just right. They are frag grenades meant to release shrapnel not meant to blow stuff up, IMO of course.....

yes I agree the frag gernade is fine. but the Rocket explosion sucks. No flames at all.
What I most upset about though is the damage radius or the logic for the explosion. I can stand next to a grenade and not get hurt, most of the time. Other times I can be almost across the room and it'll kill me. I've been killed when I was in an adjacent room. Same thing with the rocket explosion. [This message has been edited by killaman (edited December 18, 2001).] Oh and one more point: The grenades bounce like a ball. What the hell is that. that too bugs me because I cant just throw a grenade in a corner and expect it to sit there. It always ends up bouncing off three walls and out the window or back towards me. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif Come on 2015 reduce the bounce please. yeah true about the rockets, but remember its only a demo, things should prob all be fixed before release, peace
|
WEll you know in WW2 there were SEVERAL different calsses of grenades, the one featured here is the good ole pineapple, this is a Fragmentation grenade and its main purpose was to fling shrapnel aroung a confined area to maim or kill all in the room. The HE grenade was smooth, and a little bigger and was used in open areas such as fields.the HE grenade was pretty much useless in house to house fighting as it would blow walls and floors to hell.AS for the Bounce problem,I think it will be fixed in the full version, but I guess a grenade would bounce like that if you tossed it like a major-leauge pitcher...lol...All of you who say you have been near a grenade and it didn't kill you,and then been across the room and you died, well remember this is a Fragmentation grenade and the shrapnel probably spread out a bit, being closer doesn't mean you are safer, just a little lucky not to have been hit by a big enough piece to kill you.

you are right about the grenades not having flames and such because they are frags. i understand that. I've used it much in RB6 and other games like that. But he problem is the damage radius. There is no way you can tell me that I could stand next to a grenade and have it go off without it causing me any damge. What I and many other have experinced is grenades exploding right next to us and no damage is taken. ZERO damage. In most cases its been when the grenade stops next to a wall. It almost looks like it goes into the wall and explodes.
i've seen similar issues with the rocket. Like b0n0 said he's been hit directly by one and survived. |
I agree on the granades being right, but I would like a bigger explosion when using the Bazooka. I would like to see large quantities of soil flying into the air when you hit the ground. Even the floor and the walls of the buildings should release some type of debree, not just a puff of smoke.

ya know what would be sick if u could use the missiles and press seciondary fire and bang the back of the missile and throw it jus for sum fun, peace
|
Yeah I would actually like some splash damage from the frag nade. I have no problems with the rl cept maybe the fact that the guy who fires it get no damage whatsoever.....

the explosions were okay but i was dissapointed in the sound. Some of the explosion sounds in earlier movies were really cool. You could hear the up lifted earth landing again after the explosion. In the demo it just sounds, well crap.

I got a rocket right in my face last night and I survived...
|
Flames in rockets what ? First of all, the explosions in DOD look nothing like a real nade explosion. In DOD, you see a big ass flame, and then some smoke... Where as in MOH, you see it explode, with dust fly up all around it and such. As for the rocket launcher, thats also fine. Its nothing but a low power nade, thats being fired at someone, or something. Forget what you think you know by seeing cheap war movies.
