I cant frikin play mohaa

Ive had MOHAA + SH running fine for a while now, then because of the recent cd key problem, ive reinstalled everything several times. Now, i cant even play Allied Assault single player. Spearhead isnt installed, and i even used a reg cleaner program before reinsatlling AA. Game + 1.11 patch install went fine, but when i try to play the first mission, i immediately get a message that says there was a problem and windows must close the program. This is really driving me crazy mad: , so if u can help,,,,,, then please help.

specs:
Windows xp Pro sp1 (dx9)
Radeon 8500 w/ most recent dx9 drivers (6255)

Could dx9 be the issue?

Make sure you used the registry cleaner correctly. Follow my tutorial here:

It's possible that someone developed some sort of software to detect CD keys in servers, and that's why as of late alot of peoples arent working. You may want to try contacting EA for a new one.

it's probally DX9. It's basically a public beta program and is shit. Stick with DX8 and you'll be fine.

I, Rudedog, ChickenBoo, and a bunch of the others have DX9, no issues.

Bazooka_joe, you dont think it is Dx9 that is preventing me from playing MOHAA single player? Cuz im all outta ideas to fix it. Plus, i cant play any multiplayer games, it always says server full, or server timed out, even though i installed the retail 1.11 patch.

Honestly, Im not sure what it could be. If you want to try to uninstall DX9, go right ahead.

Someone said it was un-uninstallable. Dunno if this is true, but I know it's not in Add/Remove Programs. Maybe if you try to install DX8.1?

I uninstalled DX8 with Exteriminator (or something like that, google search it). I'm sure you can do the same for DX9.

Ahhh, I had somewhat of a similar problem where by I kept getting the safe mode menu, it wouldn't load the game at all. I had to reformat and reinstall XP. I doubt that is your problem, but when all else fails nuke it.

You need a Third Party Program to uninstall DX9. I know there are a few that do DX8 but have not been updated to 9, some say "not tested for DirectX9, use at your own risk", so I would do just that. And an old version will not install over a new one. The installer will complete and say "DirectX INstalled" but when you check file versions with dxdiag, they are still 9. Unless you can find some software, you may have to reformat your drive and start over.

P.S. Please, Please, someone code a valid gaming platform for Linux.

Its not impossible though. Do a search in Google for "dx9 uninstall".

There is I think an app that will totally allow you to do this
