Name cheaters, pls help
 

Hi all,
Long time lurker...new user :)

Heres my problem...Recently someone started screwing with me, its so bad now i cant even play at all. Seems everytime i log on and play someone logs on right away and copies my name to get me kicked. It doesnt matter what I change my name to he copies it, follows me around from server to server and gets me kicked all night long. I have no idea how he knows its even me...No Matter what name i choose, no matter what server im on, he finds me out and does this to get me kicked. Could it be that i have a worm of some sort from a map pack download? Or is he running some script on his end? If so how is he tracing me....My ISP is cable so my IP is constantly changing...but he still is able to get me kicked...ugg im going insane!

How can i stop this from happening so i can play again?

I have no idea how to help other than changing your ip address but maybe someone else knows...

I don't think you are being followed. Sometimes when i am playing on my server i will see 2 of me in scoreboard. Then after couple minutes i get kicked. I thought it was someone messing with me until i saw that both names hade same ip.

um your cable ip does not keep changing WTF?????????

are you using gamespy cause when you are on his buddylist and you change your name he stil can see you (of am i wrong??) so if you do, take another prog like ase or qtracker

Or just create a new GameSpy account...

That pretty much answers most of the queries... :p

It is most likely your IP (I used to have cable and my IP changed very very rarely).

I'm sure this person isn't on 24/7 so it won't affect you forever and eventually he'll get bored with it. My advice is to just play the game and never say anything to anyone so as not to antagonise them and give anyone a reaosn to do this to you.

Also, try to find well known servers that have IP banners and regular admins who will protect you if this happens.

Due to no edit button: Take the above post only if you aren't using Crapspy to connect to your games. If you're using that pile of junk of a browser then take the advice above my last post.

call youre ip, change address, contact clan with server you're familiar with and explain whats going on set time to log on then see what they show...if that doesnt help try reinsalling just the game alone..good luck i feel for ya

How come you get kicked if other guy comes to server and steels your name? He is supposed to get kicked not you. You say it happens on every server you join? I don't think every sever is running a scanner. I see double names couple times a week on my server so i'm thinking its a bug.

Iv been on servers were people take my name after i kill them more then 10 times in a row. normaly they get kick not me if they even kick at all for dubble names
