I Miss The Old Console Days..
Its kind of sad that Sega has pretty much demised from the gaming world. I loved the console wars of Nintendo vrs Sega, and then sony comes along and fucks thing up with the playstation. The sega saturn was crap - but it was revolutionary, just noone took it seriously.
Now, it seems that sonic the hedghog is now on nintendo. I bet back in the early 90's none of us vets would ever thought the day when a Sega product would blend with Nintendo. Sonic Team have released 7 sonic games on one disc for the gamecube, which contains Contains Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Sonic Spinball, and Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine. Personally that would make getting a gamecube worth it for me, especially now theyre only £98. (roughly $120) Anyway, im just reminicing in past fond memories of sega & nintendo. Sega were right to pull out of making consoles, but i do miss the good old days. excuse me a minute...... cry: |
Nothing was more fun then playing sega games the whole day. Although games are much more involved and graphically advanced now adays, it is amazing how much fun one of those old games could bring. It is hard to go back and play some of them though, because they are so repetative, in some ways I find them boring now. Which is sad, because I remember playing those games just as much as not more as some of the games now. the future aint as bright as I thought it would be as a kid, that is for sure.

i still remember the good ole days of goldeneye biggrin:

I wouldnt say goldeneye was a good old days game, what was it, 1996/97??
round about the time playstation was released anyway... Mind you its scary to think that there were still one or two megadrive (genesis) games being produced up till 97. and what disturbs me is back in the early 90s, we were all quite happy to pay upwards of £40 for a game - despite them being completely rubbish in comparison with today. I would never pay that for a game these days though. well actually thats a lie, i bought FFVIIII for £50, but it had the officialguide to it too. And i wil be buying that mech game with the hgue controller for the xbox.... I saw in my local pawn shop mastersystem and megadrive games going for less than a £1 each, and some were only 39pence. I think i might buy them for the sake of being a collectors item one day. such happy times... |

Oh yea? Well I had Sega, 32x, AND Sega CD...with Night Trap...that game rocks biggrin:

I never said the playstation was out before the N64. It was however released in europe and the rest of world between 96 & 97. Originally released in japan in 1994. And Sega released the 32bit saturn to compete which failed miserably. |

I used to play that. Is it just me or did the AI always get more reinforcements that you if you played that side on a particular map. the AI always had nearly full units no matter what. |
the Dreamcast was a great system, but no one made games for it. Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure 2 are the best games, and I remember the genesis. I had SOnic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, SOnic and Knuckles...ah...i remember the days....
