Sorry, I had to post this.

I am the author of the M1 Carbine that caused a large fight here, I thought it only fair that I am allowed to give my two cents as the original creator of it.

If you'd be so kind to go to this link:
http://www.pokemart.dodhq.net/index.php ... ge=carbine

You'll see that the M1 Carbine that was shown is indeed my model. All my modelling work is copywritten by law to me, meaning you may not release without my permission. If you would have been honest and said, "Hey Nomad, can I release this model for MOH:AA?" I would have been more than happy to say yes.

A lot of people are saying, "Well, we steal sounds, they steal models, oh well." That shouldn't justify you stealing more, I'm here as an 'Artist' protecting my work and my interests, regardless of what others do.

Sorry for all the trouble, I've posted on the Day of Defeat forums telling them to not come here unless they want to post constructively.

:Hybrid: 05-24-2003 08:01 PM

I can understand your frustration . But just one thing why would you have a model you did for mohaa copywritten . Especially since getting a copyright is about 40 dollars or so depending ..

Sorry if i seem like an ass but it seems like these days everyone says they have everything copywirtten when they really dont . Im not saying that its NOT or even if it wasnt that it would make it right to steal or take from the person who did ALL the work .

Just wondering if you did this modelling for a company or something or why you would pay to have it copywritten

05-24-2003 08:09 PM

Sorry but for some reason people just don't care. They steal work anyway. I am a big opponent of stealing peoples work hake: no matter what it is.

-=Nomad=- 05-24-2003 08:25 PM

Thanks for the understanding.

Deadly, I have everything that is released to the public copywritten, because people have stolen things that were made for pay before.

great model BTW dude

Hobbs 05-24-2003 09:57 PM

hmm nomad not sure how u could copywrite a model for halflife unless you worked for valve or had express permission from them. maybe artistic licence but thats all. either way this is a pointless post because your model has never been released for mohaa. and if it was you would have recieived credit for it.

I appoligize for any implications i might have made that this was my weapon. What i meant was it was converted by me for mohaa. Every model i have converted i have given proper credit to the orig authors. What I can not stand is the constant harrasment from some AA members on every thread. We are not making money off this and we are only doing this for the enjoyment of the game as you are for half life.

" What is a Copyright?

Copyright is a protection that covers published and unpublished literary, scientific and artistic works, whatever the form of expression, provided such works are fixed in a tangible or material form. This means that if you can see it, hear it and/or touch it - it may be protected. If it is an essay, if it is a play, if it is a song, if it is a funky original dance move, if it is a photograph, HTML coding or a computer graphic that can be set on paper, recorded on tape or saved to a hard drive, it may be protected. Copyright laws grant the creator the exclusive right to reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute, perform and display the work publicly. Exclusive means only the creator of such work, not anybody who has access to it and decides to grab it."

well i hope he got permission from winchester oOo:

Russ.Conscript 05-24-2003 11:43 PM

of course it was never relased for MOH. but the fact of the matter is that you and guarnere were claiming the model was yours. had it been allowed to go any farther, it would have been released without credit. i know this because you would have said something aobut it earlier in the post. but you dident.

guarnere 05-24-2003 11:44 PM

not once did i say i created the model, or skin...id love to see some proof
