CABLE INTERNET SPEED. . .
Ok so I get cable installed yesterday, and I go to download some songs using Kazaa Lite. I'm getting speeds of 300 and 5 megs dling in 10 seconds. This aint right. What the fuck is going on? When I download the songs with a bandwidth of like 1000 or over I get this sound like the data is corrupted.
Help a brotha out. |
300! im lucky to get over 60 with my hicksville dsl isp.

Go to dslreports.com and run a test on your connections. It will point out the obvious problems, if one exists.
I am not familiar with kazaa, but does it have a place where you can adjust your dl options? |

On Kazaa and shit, I usually get about 60-80, sometimes over 100 with multiple sources. but 300 kbps? That's about 3 times faster than anything I've ever seen, it just cant be right, and it's fux0ring my downloads I'm sure of it. Isn't there something where if you dl data too fast or something it can get corrupted. I just know that number is WAY too high. I havent tried it with Grokster or regular Kazaa so it might just be Kazaa Lite. |
i once got download speeds of 400-500 on kazaa and it didnt fuck anything up for me. your sources are probably fucked

I have to agree with Simo here, your speed should not alter the file you are recieving, just how long you have to wait.
It (the file) was probably clusterfucked before you downloaded it. |

I'm a little confused by your question.
For one, get Kazza Lite++ if you don't have it already. Best one out there. Ok, cable usually has a 1.5mb/256kb connection. Some ISP's offer higher bandwidth for more money, but it's usually an increase in your upload bandwidth. But since it is cable, you actually get much more download bandwidth, especially if you are not in a crowded area. I myself can get about 400+ KB (that's Kilobyte not kilobit) download from fast servers. Now, I don't understand why you are saying 300KB is unheard of or would be screwing up your download. There are many servers out there on fast connections that use Kazza Lite. As far as your songs sounded crappy, well make sure you are not having sound driver issues, and try playing the song in a different app then what you are using now. Also, if you are downloading a 5 MB file wih 300KB/s speeds, it should take about 2 minutes. So if it happens to download instantly, then something is wrong with your Kazza settings. Just uninstall it and install the new ++ version, and see what happens. |
Alright everyone - I'll have to go home and check the - whats the word - i dunno, the actually lettering. But I downloaded a t 5meg song and it took less than 10 seconds. I usually download a 15meg file in about 2 minutes, and 10 seconds for 5megs is crazy. and yes it is Kazaa Lite + +, and it sounded this way in the THEATRE, and on Media Player. Same song, with a lower bandwidth produced the proper affect.

well......if it took 5 seconds then something is wrong, that's for sure. cause if you were dl'ing at 1Mbyte/s then it would amke sense but not when dl'ing at 300Kbyte/s oOo: So it's most likely something wrong with the source. |
