console command considered cheating?
 

Hi all. I recently found out about a console command (I'm not saying what it is) that turns off the background sound in the game. this command affects only your computer and not the server.

Some say it's cheating others have not.

I would like to know from the experts/admins there view.

$ = desired key

personally, i dont think it is cheating, if they made it able to do that, then by all means u shud do it if u feel neccessary.

yah not a cheat..unless you are gay and you belong to the [CP] and you feel everything ever modded for this game is a cheat.

I have made lots of adjustments to my game.

I turn the stupid music off , lighten the screne because Spearhead maps are just to dark , texture , ect. , ect.

I did all that in the options on the main screne though , not via console.

I dont think they are cheats , a cheat is something that gives you an unfair advantage over the rest of the people playing. These are things they can do to.

Same with background sound. And if Im not mistaken that can be adjusted in the options as well.

The only cheat i've ever used was on enter thw matrix when i went invisable to kick Mr.smiths wet behind with my rocket launcher biggrin:

No it's not a cheat, not if everyone has the capability to do it there and then, I always change the r_picmip settings on my MOHAA when it is running slow and I want it to run faster.

I don't think its cheating, but I do think its a little cheap. But I'm one of the few who thinks the leaning key binding is cheap. I realize these capabilities are built into the game, but i think people should try to use more skill instead of altering the game and such... now I don't complain like a noob when people do it, I just start killing them more than the others. I suppose I'm too classic/tradition or something.

i used to lean bind.. but really it is easier to move without them.but playing against leanbinders doesnt make the game harder.. its mainly b/c my hands used to get so sore for some reason for hitting the z and c keys.

I did the bind a game just to prove how pitiful the guy doing it was... he couldn't hit me... i pretty much only use sniper, so it is a bit harder to snipe a guy who just keeps leaning back and forth like some sort of... man, i don't even have anything to compare it to.... it makes me wish they incorporated a punch into the game, instead of pistol bash

Thats why i play Obj., where leanbinding asshats barely exist..
Me likes to sneak around in ze rocket facility with me Stg instead..
Or run from house to house on The Hunt, using nuthing but me Mauser..
