2004 Summer Olympics

I'm kind of suprised there are no topics about the Olympics.

I think this is a topic everyone could get in on since pretty much every country is represented. Well, at least all of the people on this board are represented.

Is anyone going to watch any of it? I have heard that coverage of the Games in the States is pretty crappy, although I don't know for sure. A booklet came in the mail a week ago from Bell with all the listings for what I can watch on TV. Pretty much every single event that has a Canadian involved is on TV, and a lot that doesn't have any from Canada are still being shown. Thats what I like about CBC. When they have coverage of these types of things, they have non stop coverage.

How will you're country fare? I'm not expecting much out of Canada. This is the smallest contingent of athletes we've sent since 1980. The government has priorities elsewhere and won't invest any money in amatuer sports or athletes like Australia does. Australians even get a crap load of medals in the Winter Olympics! Those crazy Aussies are all mixed up.

Should be fun to watch, but form some polls i've seen, not too many people care. I always liked the olympics, winter more than summer, and i'll still watch. rock:

hey ninty9.
i'll be watching the cycling events for sure. Canada's Alison Sydor is a favourite in the mountain bike event. It's too bad Lance Armstrong won't be in the olympics this year, but after winning his 6th TourdeFrance, he deserves a break.

Only good thing out of these Olympics is the fact that 12 athletes posed for Playboy.

There is a guy that made it to the olympics that went to my school (few years back) for swimming. I thought that was pretty amazing.
