I sure know i would. It would give you the option of spawning with a .30 cal on your back, and you can run around (obviously at a pretty slow speed), and at some point, you have the option of setting her up. You actually see the guy putting the .30 cal on the tripod and putting a clip across her, and then cock the gun (stop laughing). I know I could open up some hurt with that thing from a good spot (especially on the destroyed village level). I think this would be a great addition in the near future to an already awesome MP game. What do you guys think?

but that's not a bad idea, either. Maybe in a future update.

Yeah, but they don't have to be in open spaces. As a matter of fact, they shouldn't be in open spaces. Remember the final scene in Saving Private Ryan? Remember the positions of the MG's? One in a bell tower, one poking through a hole in the side of a house, and one in some rubble of a destroyed house. Believe me, nobody would set up shop in the middle of the road, and if they do, they deserve to be slaughtered. MG's could be great (and devestating) in this game.

That would be a great idea, so long as it has the proper limitations. The last thing that we want are more bazooka repeats http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif

That's a great idea. I think that it would really increase the amount of teamwork. The weapon would have a lot of power but you are also vulnerable if you are camping alone with this gun.
The ideal tactic would be to have your squad protect you to the point where you set up the gun. Then the squad deploys in various fields of fire along this "kill zone" and wait for the enemy.

The ammo must however be limited to like 200 rounds per belt and like 3 or 4 belts so people don't just blast away indefinetly.

That seems like it would be a really good idea, but there should be a limit to the number of people that can be one per team, otherwise you might have a bunch of machine gunners on a team

yeah need to limit ammo unlike the MG42s where you just tape down the trigger and get a beer. probably only spawn with a pistol and the .30 on your back until you set it up. that would further encourage teamwork.

DODs machinegunner is nicely set up but too powerful... it does have to change barrels and doesnt have unlimited ammo... maybe like this only less powerful

it COULD work in omaha put it in a bunker choke point or something. somehow i doubt theyll just come running into your field of fire forever like in SP.

By the way, I really don't like the medic idea at all, simply because the power of the medic could and would be misused, much like the way that guy said above....

Still would love have a .30 at my side to fight my battles for me though.
