Update on my wifes cousin

http://kdka.com/local/local_story_289165620.html

Site has a few video news stories on him and the family(weird and sad seeing people I know tore up like that on tv. The video of the school story shows a couple of my wifes cousins(jason huggin the girl) and aunts

Things are going well for him.

He's breathing on his own 60% now and only relying on the respirator 40%.

They started the skin grafts and they're going well so far and some of the swelling has actually come down.

He's been going in and out of the Coma.. which is a good and bad thing. The doctors/nurses keep finding him sitting straight up in his bed looking around. They've been trying to keep him sedated enough that he won't pull cords or do anything harmful to himself and keep him from freaking out, but they're also letting him slowly slip out of it and grasp what's going on.

Yesterday was a big day, they let him out of his coma enough to open his eyes and sit up and his favorite band the Povertyneck Hillibillies went to the Hospital to see him and wish him luck and sing him a few songs, how awesome of them is that!?

Today they let him out of the Coma while they were cleaning out his lungs and my Aunt and Uncle were there and they were talking to him (he can't respond just yet, still part of the coma and the fact that they're working on his lungs and such) but he was smiling and trying to move his arms and looking all around. I'm sure that really helped out my aunt/uncle. Heck thinking of it makes me want to cry.

So things are really looking up! I guess the Povertyneck Hillbillies are putting on a benefit concert in his name as well so there's a bit of financial aid as well! Still not sure exactly what went on with the hearing

Wife wrote all that^

I saw the other thread but must have missed the first one. What happened that he's in this condition?

If I remember correctly some drunk threw gas or something flammable on him and lit him on fire.

Glad to hear that there is some improvement. My thoughts are with him and the family.

Sad story all around. Some douche makes a bad decision in the heat of the moment and now so many people have to suffer the consequences. annoy:

"Povertyneck Hillbillies Perform For Burn Victim, Keith Jones reports. (10/17)"

That's the title of the videocoverage?

Edit: Oh... it's a band.

Good to read that there's some progress being made.

That was a class act move by that band. rock:
