something that's bothering me a little..
i found a new job at a local gym. Now, when i filled out the application of course i had to list job references and work history. Now for my job (pesonal) references i listed co-workers that i've worked with and had good friendships with. The number one guy on my list was out of town at the time my new job (gym) called and inquired about my work performance or whatever they ask. Im not quite sure if they called the second or not yet. So they called my current job and im not really sure what they asked them about me. My main supervisor just about hates me but i had to list the job. I didn't want to check the "may we contact this employer" and say no. That wouldn't look good would it?? Anyway, i went to pick up my check at my current job today and i said "hey" to my manager and she said" your new job called me about a reference" and said nothing else... lol mwah: . Im sure she said negative shit about me and that shit is pissing me off as i type this.
So my main question is should we ( job seekers) list your current job when filing out resumes*/applications? |
its racism man

Always list them even if you had the job for a day say you kept it from 6/06-6/06
and if I'm not mistaken they usually just confirm your employment there, salary etc http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs16-bck.htm#2 What can my former employer say about me? Often a potential employer will contact an applicant's past employers. A former boss can say anything [truthful] about your performance. However, most employers have a policy to only confirm dates of employment, final salary, and other limited information. California law prohibits employers from intentionally interfering with former employees' attempts to find jobs by giving out false or misleading references. (California Labor Code §1050) Under California law and the laws of many other states, employees have a right to review their own personnel files and make copies of documents they have signed. If you are a state or federal employee, your personnel file is protected under the California Information Practices Act or the federal Privacy Act of 1974 and can only be disclosed under limited circumstances. (California Civil Code §56.20; California Labor Code §§432, 1198.5; 5 USC §552a) Jobs such as truck driver positions fall under regulations of the federal Department of Transportation. Employers are required to accurately respond to an inquiry from a prospective employer about whether you took a drug test, refused a drug test, or tested positive in a drug test with the former or current employer. (49 CFR §40.25, 49 CFR §382.413. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations) |
ok cool man.
btw, widow i know you were just joking but the ho is black |
I would never give a bad reference to a former employee. It just opens you up for a law suit and if you make him/her sound good they are off unemployment that much quicker. Its bettre to get totally rid of the bad employee and cut ties. If he/she has a job odds are more likely you will never hear of them again
