People rag on the rockets for many valid reasons. For instance it will lag down a server(depending how good it is), but I personaly believe that it doesn't take any skill to blast a rockets into someone. Easy way to win a firefight. This is why I believe that people who use them are disappointed that they seem to suck at playing online and switch to the rockets to make up for their lack of skill.

Another real good argument against using rockets is when FF is on. Last night I was on a server where there where a few people using rockets(on both sides), but evertime I closed in on an enemy and was about to take him out, some asshole from my own team would blast in a rocket and take BOTH of us out. Sure, they can type sorry, and did MANY times, but the truth is they fucked up the game for me and the rest of us who where trying to play a good game.

This is why I and many good hosts are now using the no-rocket mod. You twits who use them can select it and run around with them, but there is no ammo for you to ruin the game with.

Back to Spiewalk, with this in mind, your 5 kill with the rpg must have made you feel good but it doesn't make you skillful, and it doesn't make the gun any better. If you could do that consistently then perhaps it would convince players of that. Don't expect to convince people on a forum using screenshots, though.

5 kills in one shot is no different from 5 kills with 5 shots. It's still 5 kills. In fact, if you think about it...

5 shots mean you have to aim 5 times. 1 shot means you only have to get it right once, and the splash damage will do the rest for you.

That is the up-side of bazookas (from the user's point of view). The downsides are very clear, and those who choose to use them all the time should be aware of both. I think the downsides outweigh the upsides, which is why I don't bother using it.

Sadly, the majority of players who use the rpg are not aware of the downsides to upsides ratio. But that's not our loss, is it?

I didn't read it anywhere, it's just from observing what happens to a server when they start using those rockets. It's true they won't have much effect on a really good and fast server, but I've been on some that are borderline and when those goofs start using those rockets performance goes in the toilet. The game would have been fine otherwise.

rockets arent as bad as having a large group of STG-44s all firing in one small area at once.

Agreed.

I disabled the bazooka long time ago on our servers. No gameplay and skills are required at all when using that.

rockets are a false skill meaning all you really need to know is where the trigger is. they're nice if used properly, for example, to take out a squad pinning your buddies down, but are seriously lame when someone runs through the halls and shoots you in the face at point blank range killing you both.

Hey Spiewalk.....looks like it's only 3 kills, not 5. I only see three kills listed in a row then i see "lonewolf" dying again at respawn. Is that what happened?

Strikor, I doubt it's a clone.

If it was a true 5 kill the kills would all be on the screen at once and no gaps. As you can see his 3 kill has other kills by other people either side of it.

A single rocket kill would generally flood the screen with Spiewalk's kills, but it hasn't.

This looks more like a 2 kill with one rocket, followed shortly after by a 3 kill.

Still a nice feat in itself, but nothing to be proud of (especially if it's DM, which I'd presume it was). And certainly no reason to lie about.

true i guess the kills do stay up on the screen awhile. i never paid much attention to them.
