Basic Training

Anybody watch this show on the history channel. I think its an entertaining show and to see the pyhsical requirements is interesting. But i cant believe some people cant do some of the PT. That one guy cant do 32 pushups in 2 mins. 2 mins holy crap and u can take a break. 58 situps in 2 mins. Come on. Its so damn easy. The only part i can understand trouble is with the 2 miles in 16 mins cause i cant run for shit. Also that show Mail Call is pretty cool. The guy from Full Metal Jacket host it.

I think it is a great show, so far it is really entertaining, and hey bean give'm a break not everyone is superman.

Bean 2 08-13-2002 10:12 AM

Some of those recruits are funnier than the guys in the comedy "Stripes"

Why do people act stupid when they know the Sarge is going to be on their case???

About Mail Call, wasn't that guy also the drill sergeant in the "Space Above and Beyond" pilot episode?

that was funny shit: "when do we get our planes"
"PLANES? I AM AFRAID OF YOU IN A SIMULATOR!"

MrLevinstein 08-13-2002 12:48 PM

its a cool show because it is interactive, and gives sort of a hands on look as an explanation...plus the guy who hosts the show is funny :D

the real problem I have with their fitness req. is that women do about 1/3 of what men do.
In the foxholes the wounded buddy that you must drag to safety will not become 1/3 as heavy because you are a woman.
this equal rights crap is really hurting the army, in my opinion.

what a wise man. that is so true. your workload doesnt become lighter just because your a woman. if your ina hand tohand fight they arnt gonna go easy because your a woman. what a bunch of shit

it's politics, can you imagine what those idiot "organizations" like NOW would say if women had to work as hard as men? "they're making them work hard just because they're women!" well no shit sweetheart what do you think the military is a fucking poker game?

jimo_soccer 08-13-2002 02:49 PM
