CHEATS WANTED - Apply Within!
I've got a few new ideas for fixing the Ladder/Swimming bug, however I need the assistance of players who can do this bug consistantly for me on my test server. Please PM me if you can help with this.
Also I'm looking for map bugs that require 2 to 3 players and are relatively easy to do (ie in use on servers). Please PM me a brief location/description and if you are willing to demonstrate it on my server. Thanks! In other news the DMz Dogtag beta will be released today, and boy oh boy are you folks going to drool when you see the new feature set. GI: Well even if I can't fix it now it is fixed in Spearhead by EA, so my fix is half learning experiance and half desire for an immediate fix. ;)
Mope: Please PM me the instructions for that one. The only undermap one I had for the Hunt turned out to not even get you under the map, just onto a weird ledge. Thanks! |

I will be adding a way to block access to the church roof as well, but if there is a way to jump out of bounds I need to address that seperately for those admins who want to leave roof access open. The straight up Ladder/MG-42 switch cheats are a whole different issue, and I won't be working on them again for awhile since the only solution that works won't work as a server side fix.

So does that mean I can turn certain pk3's on and off on the fly ? I'd love that, as I have a rocket mod I did on our server, and I'd love to be able to just switch it off for ladder matches and such, without having to stop the server to do so. Nope, I'm talking strictly controlling my mod and what it does, and if everything was set to off it would be just like my mod wasn't on there. There's no way that I know of to unload a pak file without actually shutting down the server and restarting it, sorry.

glad to hear about the anti nade spammer fix, i hope u used and invisible wall so it knoks the nades right back onto those little punks that dont like to use their guns. nothing worse than having to sit and watch because some fool just chucked five nades over 3 buildings and right beside where you have to run to get out of the spawn. i know a couple glitches in dv that u didn get to with ur last fix, but this 1 is no biggie, just a lil rooftop access at a couple spots. also know how to get under map in remagen. caught a dood doin it last week. he was shootin me in the upper torso when i was by myself in the axis spawn, gotta love spectate.

Dr: Yes the nades bounce off invisible walls, and can become quite dangerous to the thrower! I think lots of admins will enable this one, Hunt has really gone downhill since the nade spamming got big.
Go ahead and PM the locations and descriptions to me if you would please. Just because I might know of them already doesn't mean that more info won't help. Might even be one I don't have yet. :) Remagen needs a couple of fixes, at least one undermap and one hidden spot inside the cabinet. |
This is an excellent post and what you doing is a great serrvice to everyone who plays the game.

Man, don't get me wrong, I like all the glitch fixes and stuff, but cmon, why all the hard to reach areas? As long as you're not hidden from the enemy and can still kill him, I think they sohuld stay, like the rooftops of Southern France and Algiers.

Joe: You wound me sir, I thought you'd know my attitude on these map fixes by now. ;) I've been very vocal about stating that those areas are not bugs and I would not be making a standard fix for them. However, I can make a special fix for them for those admins who really want to close those areas off. I guess you could say I'm pro-choice. I just posted this over at TMT, figured I'd mirror it here: I've got a couple different types of fixes for maps, all controlled independantly of course (admin enables just those they want). I can't stress this enough, the admin can pick and choose when enabling these fixes. I only enable the regular Map Fixes by default and even those can be turned off! Map Fixes: regular under the map route fixs Secret Area Fixes: These are for the questionable ones, like the roof in S.France or the Church Roof in Hunt. Personally I see nothing wrong with these, however I'm sure someone will want to block access on their server to em so I'm giving them the choice. Spawn Kill Fixes: adds items that get in the line of sight of the spawn points most prone to spawn killing. The church side on Destroyed Village is a good example of where a blocking object makes a big difference. Omaha will be a bit trickier since the beach is so open, large FOV and such. Grenade Spam Fixes: adds invisible items that stop unrealistic grenade tossing. The Hunt is the only one I've done so far, since the Axis can simply toss nades over 3 buildings and kill Allies when they emerge from the spawn point. Special Fixes: These are to address a very specific problem, for example I have one I'm working on for Omaha that stops the Axis from jumping down the cliffside. |
