Who's gonna buy MS Combat Flight Sim 3?
 

I know I am this game, looks totally kick ass, I just pre-ordered it from Amazon. Comes out Oct.24th.

I think I will definately be trying this one out, atleast borrow it from work ;)
The graphics are great, and they have finally made ground targets more
prominent, great models for vehicles and awesome texture work, nice trees
too.

Bah, the game is very half ass made. From what I've seen at least. For example in the Me-262, a bunch of gauges are missing.

Looks pretty half ass to me. Microsoft are a bunch of lazyasses. Oh, and the gunsights are placed wrong on ALL the German planes.

I really want to get it, but before that, I need to get a decent Joystick. My old SideWinder Pro isn't gonna do much, and on top of that, it's totally off center. Try to fly when the plane steers to your immediate right indefinately. oOo:

Movie was just a render for your info, real game won't look as good as that.

on this magazine called flying i saw an ad for thi sgame , it was a huge screenshot and dman it looks so good. i think the graphix would probably be like il2 sturmovik's

Yeah, I find the ground and the cockpits to look pretty bad in CFS3, and I hear it's not realistic when the planes are pushed to their limits in terms of flight characteristics, but if all you're looking for is eye candy, then go for it.

Sturmovik's cockpits look much better, and they are complete too.

yeah it does look better. cfs3 proably wont be as realitic as il2 sturmovik but it does have soem nice graphix, aslo how coem in il2 sturmovik when ever i blow up a plane it like laggs for 1 second i got all the patches and it still wont stop. is it due to the explosion or soemthing? particles maybe?

Everything looks better(imo) in IL-2 except the pilots

nvidias promising cg high quality games like that vid in the not too distant future, cant wait. But until then, bah! we get stuf like this. Wth is one of those german wing like thing airplanes doing out there? And that allied pilot must have some good connectiones hese got rockets. And how is it the 2 allied pilots didnt see that german plane comming? came directly from in front, what kind of pilot would attack 2 allied planes head on? and not be seen? er whatever im picking at this clip too much, anyways il2-sturmovik for now biggrin:

When i bought IL-2 i couldnt believe how realistic and beautiful the game was, i mean wow. Cfs 2 cant even come close to IL-2. I am very excited about cfs3 because our squad is branching out into cfs3 too :) soon we will own that too! I will say that cfs3 probably wont be as cool as it could be, like they pointed out earlier the cockpits are horrendous in cfs series...IL-2 is phonomenal and i cant wait for the IL-2 expansion ! btw a cool IL-2 site http://ham.dogfighter.com/sturmovik/

Il2 is awesome flight sim. Very complete eastern theatre sim and great graphics. I bought it a while back for $39 at best buy, might be a little lower now. Here's the demo if you want to give it a try:

It'll be more than eye candy, CFS2 was a really good game, on a scale of 1 to 10 for realisim i'd say it gets a 8.5-9 where Il-2 gets a 10. The CFS series ground design is well done, since it models the actually topography of europe. CFS2's flight characteristics were pretty good, stalls and such were done well, weapons characteristics. The Graphics in 2 were great for its time a CFS3 looks to surpass it by a mile.
