Finished my bf-1942 vid (dload inside)
 

Ran into a few problems though, my recording pc's netowrk card is fucked so i had to play and record it on the asme pc. This was making the pc shut down every so often due to playing a game and recording video to be a real cpu assraper.
Vids not aquite as long as i woulda liked but its not bad. Incorperated a few ideas from the other thread on what to include as well:)

u should start the music when the actual game clips start and leave the begining silent except for the static sounds and hitler talk.

I tried a version like that but it seemed kinda annoying with nothing but static and hitlers psychotic tirade. Ive about 6 gigs worth of ingame recordings here mostly worthless shit. Im glad i caught the tank wreckage crushing the guy on the bridge though that was a classic biggrin:

Red alert came out in 97 btw the original command and conquer came out in 95. In 97 i didn't even have a pc, i was in a training organisation that had a good network setup and every day for a few hours 3-4 of us would be playing command and conquer. When red alert came ou later that year i charged down and bought it so we could play it over the network. Following year i got a pc :)

Its not hard making the video's really its just a matter of having a load of hard drive space to store it on. My main pc has 40 gigs of hd space and my recording pc has a 20 gig hard disk. You just record in divx so you can get a few hours recording time out of the 20 gig hard drive and hope some interesting stuff happens. Like i said this woulda been longer if my network had not screwed up. To make this i had to put my capture card into the pc i play battle field on but since it was playing a game plus recording and encoding at the same time the cpu was heating up and crashing the pc a lot.

I lost a lot of good footage such as me flying a plane using the fly by camera view and managing to score a direct hit on a tiger with a bomb that blew it up completly. cry:

The hardest part of the vid is sequencing it. In adobe premiere its basically a timeline layout and its a matter of me syncing the audio and video plus video effects such as the aged film effect and hoping it all comes together. On my hard drive right now ive a few gigs of recorded footage i need to delete. Ive about 5 revisions of the video file i uploaded as well :)

Oh as for c&c generals, from what i hear thers a multiplayer test that will be available later this month with 4 or so maps to play on :)

No offense Gerard, but the movie sucked. You used too many of the same clips and wasn't timed well with the crappy music you chose. I don't have Bf1942, but if you want to see an awesome video, upload some of your clips so I can download and I'll choose the music. You'll see....

I understand that you guys don't like my post, but it's just retarded when a guy with this good talent (you can tell) doesn't use it well. If he'd chosen a better song or if he kept it, he still could have used a wider variety of clips to make it better. I hope you make another version taking my advice. Oh, and the program that was used to make this, you won't be able to buy it unless your willing to shell out $550. But then again you can always get a warez copy which is what I use. hehe

The reason i didn;t use a wider variety was my pc was constantly crashing from the strain of encoding\recording and me actually playing the game at the same time. When i get my network up running properly i can have my second pc dedicated to recording so if i make another vid it will look a lot better.

Hey Gerald, great vid man. One suggestion for your next movie. The ending was kinda abrupt. perhaps a fade to black or somthing. Small i know.

Gerard I recommend you to use the new hellmarch song used in Red Alert 2. That sounds alot better I think.

Oops, I meant something different. Anyways, can someone host these for him? I'm sure you could covert them to something different like DivX for good quality and small size.

Don;t have the files anymore, deleted them earlier this morning. Gonna have to do a total format :/
