Nice screenshots, has anyone downloaded the demo and tested the game, if so, what's it like? I heard other delta force games suck, but this game looks good

Swill 10-17-2002 03:47 PM

Hey

Those are tight as can be,did you make them? swordfight: fire1: M16: bigzooka: M16: fire2: M16: swordfight: angel: M16: angel: angel: M16: bigzooka: zooka: fire2: M16: M16: M16:

the games were okay even for their graphics being a bit behind the times and the pretty bad unrealism (charging forward firing your FN-MAG with dead on accuracy into prone enemies) but i actually have seen teamwork involved from time to time. hopefully this one will be a BIT less hackable considering all of the others trainers were all over the place in multi.

Milla 10-17-2002 04:59 PM

I cant wait for BHD it looks awesome, the gun models are really good to

Vance 10-17-2002 06:06 PM

Can you d/l the demo and play it if you dont have Delta Force?

Milla 10-17-2002 06:37 PM

This game is stand alone, it doesnt require any other delta forces. Its is its own new better engine. The demo is on most DL sites. plus the demo is old and not as good as the game really is now, so dont judge it by the demo

Vance 10-17-2002 07:18 PM

cool, thanks

10-17-2002 07:21 PM

the gun looks good, the character models suck

Milla 10-17-2002 07:23 PM

Nah ingame they look good, i like them

Slinky2397 10-17-2002 07:33 PM

I played the beta quite a bit, it was pretty fun. I tried the official demo, but couldn't get back into it. I noticed the weapon models got a lot nicer, but you can still jump off the tallest building, maybe 300 feet to the ground and not get a scratch. eek: I personally don't like the gameplay, but I might check this one out once it's released, BHD was an awesome movie. This doesn't have much to do with BHD, but I noticed that about 3 people from Pearl Harbor are in BHD, I watched Pearl Harbor again the other day, and I obviously knew Josh Hartnett (Eversman) was in that, and Tom Sizemore (McKnight) and Ewen Bremner (Nelson) were all in Pearl Harbor as well as BHD. I thought that quite intersting. (Yes, it's kinda lame, just a couple things I noticed)

Milla 10-17-2002 07:38 PM

i ahted josh hartnett with all my passion before BHD, tahn after i realized he can be cool i think hes ok now. Plus 40 days 40 nights was fucking funny

10-17-2002 07:39 PM

everytime i turn on shadows my framerate drops from 30 to like 5 or 10 freaking gay, this game has a recommended requirement of 500mhz and i have 750mhz with 600mb ram and 32mb ram video card that's totally messed up that game's recommended requirment should be 1ghz or soemthing.

he looks like a young tommy lee jones, i saw a old picrure of tommy lee jones and that's exactly what he looks like. anyways raven shield's demo is gonna be released on octobre 25th at http://www.ubi.com

ninty 10-17-2002 07:48 PM

Wanna give a better link than that Germ? I can't find anyhting on Raven Shield on there.

10-17-2002 07:50 PM

cant right now cause demo isnt out yet, but when it's out expect to find it everywhere, maybe http://www.3dgamers.com or soemthing

ninty 10-17-2002 07:51 PM

No I know, I meant where it said when the demo is coming out.

Thats b/c they were both produced by Jerry Bruckhiemer, that might have something to do with it

Yeah, that's pretty true.

Miscguy 10-17-2002 09:48 PM

Those screens look alot better than that multiplayer demo. Looks like something i'll have to keep my eyes on.

Magnum 10-17-2002 10:04 PM

That is excellent.

con Brio 10-17-2002 10:18 PM

when does the full SP version come out?

Bartlett 10-18-2002 06:43 AM

I think the demo is excellent, I will definitely buy it, especially since it runs ok on 56K, well the demo does anyway

geRV 10-18-2002 08:06 AM

Just tried the demo and its not bad. Some of the weapons skins are a bit stretched out looking like the m-21 rifle. The minigun is horribly unrewarding, i expected to see shitloads of shells flying everywhere plus a massive muzzle flash but the gun seems to be firing about 3 rounds per rotation of the barrels and the sound just sucked.

The models are suprisingly well done although theyre nothing compared to some of the custom counterstrike models ive seen.

M4 reload animation is wrong, if the magaazine has been fully discharged you can't just slap a new magazine in and fire away as a new round hasn't been chambered. You need to press the charging handle on the right of the gun or pull back the bolt located at the rear of the gun.

Seems ok but i'll wait for full version to see whats improved.

Bartlett 10-18-2002 08:15 AM

I actually think the minigun is very good, I think it's the best minigun I've used in a game, and you're right about the Car-15 reload animation, you would need to chamber a new round.
By the way, when I looked at some Canadian Carbines (almost identical to XM or M4) I didn't have a lot of time to look at them, is the charging handle the part that sticks out on the right, just below the cocking handle?

Yup, charging handle looks just like a small button with a rod attached to it.

=[BANE]= 10-18-2002 08:21 AM

The best minigun in a video game is Resident Evil 2 for PSX hands down. I've mowed down a lot of zombies with that mofo.

Sorry for being off topic...

Bartlett 10-18-2002 08:27 AM

the m4 is a kick ass rifle, very very cool: looks good, accurate, light, compact, easy to use

Its basicaly a shortened m16. When you see the 2 of em together theres very few differences visually aside form overall length and the m4 has a different stock which i think is telescopic.

Bartlett 10-18-2002 08:55 AM

yes, the stock is telescopic, which is a very good thing, it can also fire fully automatic

Miscguy 10-18-2002 09:01 AM

I havnt seen the annimation for a long time now but are you missing the part where he taps the bolt release? Or perhaps he simply jars the weapon enough. Slapping the magazine in hard enough will automatically send the bolt forward.

The bolt is held back very weakly and in all my experiance with the M16, its bigger brother, the bolt was easily sent forward without the bolt release. Simply hitting the side of the weapon anywhere typically works, or as i said slapping in the mag hard enough.

They may have left it out since its not a big detail that you wont notice when playing. It also saves time on the reload, something i wont complain about after waiting the 30 minutes it takes to reload in America's Army.

Bartlett 10-18-2002 09:11 AM

the forward assist is what I thought the charging handle was, we call the charging handle cocking handle

geRV 10-18-2002 09:31 AM

I get those mixed up as well, i normally just call it the bolt. Anyway that seems to be a flaw with the m-16 if thats the case. If a hard slap can fire the bolt forward then another slap could set the fucker off. ed:

Id prefer to tell the weapon when I want to load a round into the breech and not have it do it automatically.
