Another slanted opinion about BF 1942

I am extremely disappointed with this game.
I figured this would be a good single player game but it reminds me of playing a single player match of QIII with Commodore Vic 28 graphics.
Not worth the money IMHO.
Perhaps the novelty lies with being able to operate different pieces of weaponry? I don't know if I'm missing something here but it sucks flying a plane when there are no instruments. Maybe they work with a different video setting? I dunno.............
Just thought I'd share. oOo:

I too was very dissapointed by this game, lots of people absolutly adore it and say its 10 times better than MOHAA. I really dont see how, the playability is -20/20. Besides, its like constantly having people with rockets in mohaa, cos all people ever have is a tank, ffs!

The games shite - spearhead will put the game to shame :)

I can't agree more.

Sorry guys moved to off topic.

BTW BF is a totaly different type of game. I would compare it to OFP or WW2OL

ninty 10-19-2002 09:19 PM

BF blows.

I bet more people thik it sucks more than they think its good.

I'll make a poll..

DJBUCKSHOT 10-19-2002 09:20 PM

Yes but thats because people who play Medal Of Honor know the truth. :)

If that was the case, would MOHAA be behind bf1942 on the list of the most played games on the net?

ninty 10-19-2002 11:01 PM

MOH has been out for almost a year.

intrestedviewer 10-20-2002 12:40 AM

i think the game is badass, i love the ones where your in the citys, but the big huge outdoor maps, those just lower my fps to hell.

10-20-2002 01:48 AM

More my cock is bigger than yours threads -

As RUDE said, these are two WAY different games. One more time...

MOH is more tight, man to man combat - BF is designed for large scale combat. Of course the game mechanics are going to be different. Or do you REALLY think wars were fought man to man - mano a mano.

The game is fine.

1080jibber 10-20-2002 01:56 AM

the game sucked*

i was all happy at first but the game laggs like a mofo on my comp. and i got an allright comp.

i tryed shuting off the sound but it still sucks, all choppy and sheit

piedude 10-20-2002 02:07 AM

Why complain about the maps being so big? I mean unlike MOHAA, you get to cruse about in Planes, Subs, Destroyers, tanks, half-trucks, jeeps etc etc as well as useing Anti-aircraft guns!

The maps need to be big to accommodate for them!

I think the game is awesome! Sure Spearhead will make MOHAA even better, BUT BF42 certainly aint a bad game!

it reminds you of quake 3 with comodore vic 28 graphics ? Im not sure that that is even possible. swordfight:

I don't like it.

Oldguy 10-20-2002 08:02 AM

I really like MOHAA, and I though 1942 would be more like it. I bought it a few weeks ago , played SP for about 4 hours , went back to MOH. freak:

Mope 10-20-2002 01:50 PM

bf1942 is 10x better than mohaa

intrestedviewer 10-20-2002 02:26 PM

i must say the bots are stupid as hell though, they run around and sometimes the 2 opposing sides crash into eachother and just sit there running head on until i throw a nade n kill em all, or i can go where theres like a shitload of enemy and they wont see me, but if i go hide sniping em in a tower they see me like if i was glowing bright green or something. And sometimes the fuckers on my side shoot me. I thought friendly fire idiots were only online but i guess the bots r just gay too. Other than that and the lag, say its an OK game.

LOL
You are completely right. It is not possible. It's just a comparison for figure of speach sake. Try not to take it literally.
BTW.. It's not a Vic 28.. I meant Vic 20. :)

I also agree the bots do some pretty weird things.

Pyro 10-20-2002 05:25 PM

BS1942 was rushed and all games should be held back

look at blizzard, you always geta great product if you just make it perfect.

I have mixed feelings about this game.

I like that fact that the maps are big and not "artificially" limited (like in MOHAA where there are gates that are locked for absolutely no good reason, and you can't blow them up)
however because of this graphics suffer quite a bit. (compared to MOHAA)

I like the fact that you get to drive vehicles,
but it takes away from the experience of being infantry and all the n00bs TK you for taking a vehicle first.

I like the IDEA of TEAMWORK,
but in practice this works about as well on a public server as the concept of COMMUNISM worked in practice. (not at all)
