No, I was talking with one of my American friends, and he said that if the U.S. invaded, Canadians would not mind being conquered, because they would have actually wanted to be a part of the U.S. except for the French that live in Quebec. So, I knew he was wrong, but it made an interesting question. Anyway, back on topic everyone.

I think it doesn't matter what *I* think, really: the elite at the top made the
decision before "giving us the choice". When will people understand they DO
NOT have a choice ? Illusions are sometimes well presented to look real...

Solidus you make a very very good point. But there in lays one problem, power of the people. The fact is I doubt all the personell in the military would be happy about it, nor many of the average joe. Guerilla warfare would be what we would have to do to protect canada.

Canadians like to distinguish ourselves form the USA. If we go to other countries, we wear a canadian flag on our shirts and packs so the locals don't get us mixed up with you guys. evil:

Its not that we hate Americans or anyhting like that, we love getting your Cable TV, and movies, and like to import things across the border, but when you say to a Canadian were taking away your soverignty hell will break lose.

We like being seperate from the US, but we alos like beinmg their friend. There are many benifits to being trading partners and allies with a country like this.

If something like that did happen, you could expect a huge division between the two "states". Civilians wouldn't be quiet. We'd think of it as Nazi Occupation. evil:

rifles = ok as long as you get a permit & have not commited a crime within the last 10 years, i think. you also need to have your gun registered & you cant even buy ammo unless you show your lisence, i cant even buy BB's here unless i have someone whos 18 with me.

Yeah, well...Halting the sale of guns before they get in circulation, might help to lower the death toll. But maybe this is too hard for all North Americans to comprehend.

Currently in Alberta, 20 some% of the population supports leaving canada and joining the states. I can see it raising over time if the federal government continues to 'dislike' us. In the late 80's it was something like 45% percent.

Personally, I'm undecided.

I would not be surprised if 20% of Texans wanted to join Mexico.
