What British TV programmes get shown in USA/Canada?
I'm just wondering because we get loads of yank programmes, but I'm not sure if any other countries get any of our programmes, which actually aren't about posh people drinking tea wearing bowler hats
|
we have a British channel on cable. some i seen are absolutely fabulous. of courses Monty python. young ones. lots of shit i wouldn't watch. you guys have a very different sense of humor.
but yeah we have a 24 hour all bbc channel. |
I don't think I get any brit channels, but there are some shows on occasionally. Faulty Towers and those sorts of shows.
|
so you haven't seen The League of Gentlemen or The Office?
|
Don't think so.
|

We get all american TV. I can't help it. I'm sucked in by the 4 major betworks! |
We get a whole shitload of reruns from Faulty Towers, Black Adder, and Monthy Python. We also have BBC World. They have BBC canada and BBC kids but I don't have satellite or digital cable.

Quote:
Coronation Street, Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, Blackadder, Yes Minister, who's line is it anyway (the original one) and monty python. And I think we might get Fawlty Towers. I never watch tv so I had to go ask my g/f -l- she's a brit. I think that's it for regular cable. |
The Office isn't a sitcom, like Tripper said, it's a mockumentary. Where abouts you up to in The Office Tripper, the second and final series has just finished here
|
We're like 4 episodes into the first series!
My favourite british shows: Bang, Bang It's Reeves & Mortimer Shooting Stars Harry Enfield Young Ones DAD'S ARMY Monty Python Alan Partridge...<- Anything with Steve Coogan as this guy, is brilliant. Men Behaving Badly Father Ted MR. BEAN The Thin Blue Line |
I have to say i didnt much like the office.
I dont know if it gets shown in england yet alone abroad but Still Game was hilarious. There is no denying it that Britian make the best comedies. (except when the US has an election freak: ) |

that's a load of transcripts from The Day Today, if you read them, remember, it's not meant to be serious!! |
Wasnt that programme on channel 4 (uk) it was like a piss take of the news. They did one about peadophiles and made a reenactment of a man disguised as a school to lure kiddies towards him.
It was funny as f*ck and they even had some celebs giving out warnings about men disguised as schools. |

I want to shower you with sugarlumps, And ride you over fences, Polish your hooves every single day, And bring you to the horse dentist, My lovely horse, You're a pony no more, Running around with a man on your back, Like a train in the night, Like a train in the night. |

"This man has been going round [insert British city], cunningly disguised as a school. What do you think [insert woman's name]? Yes we much catch that man, he really is a shit." |
