Uh oh are you using the warez version of MOHAA? Have you had any trouble with it in the past? Are you sure you specified the correct directory? Did you ever move the files around? Uninstall it correctly? Try reinstalling MOHAA after a complete uninstall, including using a program like regvac.

Warez? Deals off dude...
Store bought? You got a FUBAR copy. Retrun it and get a new one... |
No I haven't warezed it. I have full paid in american money copy of MOHAA and now a non working SpearHead.

I'll see what happens tonight when i try mine. Re: posted by JMummert90, Nov 13, 2002 4:29pm #3 of 4 This worked for me...shesh I love puters ;) This error is caused by a conflict with a background process called rundll32.exe. To resolve the trouble make sure no instances of this program are running. Follow the stesp below that are appropriate for your operating system: Windows 95/98/ME: Hold the Ctrl and Alt keys down at the same time and hit the Del key once. This will in turn bring up a window called "close programs". The only two applications that you want listed here before installing the game are "explorer" and "systray". Close all other programs by double-clicking on them. You will need to repeat this process after closing each application. Note that some applications may take multiple times before closing. Don't worry that you are permanently changing your system configuration; these applications will return when you restart your system. Windows XP: Hold down the Ctrl, Atl, and Delete keys at the same time This will bring up the "Task Manager", follow the steps below in order: 1) Click the "Processes" 2) Click on the User Name button to sort by user name 3) Click on anything besides EXPLORER and TASKMGR for this User Name or other user names. Do NOT select anything for SYSTEM, LOCAL SERVICE, or NETWORK SERVICE. 4) Click on END PROCESS 5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until only explorer.exe and taskmgr.exe are open for this user profile. thanks! posted by Nephrinn, Nov 13, 2002 6:16pm #4 of 4 thanks JMummert90! that worked, really appreciate that.. any idea what rundll32.exe is? Thanks for the post from the EA forums is sure helped me get my game up and running.
GR biggrin: |
Damn, I guess you can look around all over the place and not see anything in front of you, eh guys?
There's an issue with the installer from EA that directly conflicts with rundll32 as posted earlier in this thread. Follow those directions to get rid of it. If you're having a problem freezing when you try to do this (I'm assuming because you're running 98 or ME), then try restarting into safe mode and then emptying the background apps from memory. This should give you a shot at installing. Also, before you complain about the next problem which has been answered and because I'm bored enough to type it for the 20th time since I got my copy of SH, empty out all of your custom .pk3s before trying to play SP. Blood mods will cause graphical glitches. There are also some pk3's that cause the SP to crash back to the main screen. However, there aren't any issues with any pk3's in MP that have been reported yet. Oh yeah, guys, learn to have some patience. To be quite honest, it took me 6 hours from the time I got home with my copy to play SP for the first time. And that was after 3 calls to tech support at EA (support peeps are nice enough...). |
My buddy had the same prob. the game would freeze up when he hit the first NEXT command while installing. EA told him to close the run32dll. He did that and still had the same prob. Upon further inspection he noticed he had TWO run32dll running(reason unknown). He ended both and was able to install no prob.. Give that a shot... hope it works He also brought back the game, reinstalled AA, uninstalled the demo. Hours of frustration
ctrl alt del. end task/process on the run32dll |
Insulting people in a time of need is not a smart idea, because I happen to know what the first message means.
To confirm that I'm right, give us your system specs, include your OS. |
I am having the same problem, at least the one with the registration error. I have gone in and stopped all processes from running except for explorer and taskmgr. I have also done this in "safe mode", and i still get the damn error.
System specs. 1.2 Ghz 256 MB RAM 38 G HD nvdia gforce 4 mx 420 64MB CD rewritable, and DVD rom (i tried installing in both drives) Any help would be appreciated |
