I don't come here much. I used to.

Seems to me that in the last, maybe two months, something has happened to allied assault's forums. I browse the off-topic stuff looking for something funny, maybe a story or flash animation, some funny pics, but its pretty shallow. Anything that is posted lately seems to involve someone's misfortune, or chronic masturbation.

And the fights... jeez fellas.

In order to find anything cool, you have to wade though the "My COK Is BIGGER than URS ASSHOLE" forum. Just when you get through that, you get into the "I OwNz Joo BiTCH!" forum.

Its all too crap.

I don't know what the likes of Badscript and Rudedog think about this place lately, or if they even care, but its really getting a reputation, and its not a good one. I frequent a lot of other forums, and the word I see is that new people aren't bothering to come here anymore. You don't get helpful responses like you used to, just a mouthful of abuse from regulars, and finding anything actually useful is pretty tough. It looks like many of your own regulars are leaving too, which is a shame.

I'm not trying to flame anyone, or to put down the forum in any vindictive way, its just an observation. Perhaps this place is heading down a road it wants to take, or perhaps it needs some more moderator attention. Thats not up to me.

Just think about what alliedassault.com should be, and think about what it is becoming.

I gotta say that Im really getting sick and tired of seeing these posts. Not to say you dont have a point (which I dont think you have), but this is getting nuts.

This is the OffTopicBS forum, not the Algonquin Roudtable. There are flames here, yes, but you know what, thats an accepted thing really. The flames dont get out of hand, and people deal with it. Those that dont PM a mod, and let someone else handle their business.

If someone is looking for advice, just look at the number of people assist them. How many "vid card" questions have been asked here, and how many go unassisted. I know what I posted one, i got some QUICK responses and GOOD responses.

This just seems like a case of someone looking at the bad and refusing to see the good.

And reputation? - This place is still one of the most visited AA sites going. I dont think BS needs to worry about his reputation.

Im with Wolf-Man on this one. I remember the "good ol days". Had a question about a part of Mohaa? You would get some good answers with 1 or 2 flames here or there. Now its Flames with 1 or 2 good replys. Everyone saying they hate someone else. Most noticably Founding_Law, and Redneck eat a lot of the crap this board shovels. Thats not right.

Most of the topics are useless. Now i understand the concept of being "offtopic BS" but some of this stuff dosnt need to be posted. They simply ask to be flamed and serve no prurpose.

I agree on this subject also. When I first came here there were people here willing to help you out with a problem you were having, now you look for help and you have to worry about being flamed for not knowing the answer.

I'm sorry to say this to you guys, but I've been here since April of last year, and I find this forum to be EXACTLY the same as it was about a year ago. I did think that the forum was nicer before the demo came out. Otherwise, it has been the same.

Technically it is the same forum, just the content has changed from constructive dicussion to a little more relaxed or laid back forum. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy posting with these 'mates' but I have seem some more flames - swearing - hate threads lately that go unmoderated.

BUT, don't think that I'm saying the moderators are doing a shity job oOo: because it wouldnt be as much fun if the cut down the swearing/flames. I guess my policy for the site would be as usual

I think it's time for some people to have a dose of reality as to what a forum is. It's a civilization, so to speak, with good people, bad people. . .in essence people. People are going to disagree, argue, scream, insult, curse. It's just a fact, so deal with it and let's stop the lamenting over how this forum has denigrated. It's no different from any other forum I'm a member of. I've learned to tune out the fools and enjoy my ineraction with the worthwhile people here. biggrin:
