Server Admins - Community Ban List Growing
The list of banned names and IP address is growing quickly, and we can always use the logs from your server to help in the fight. Just email me @ doclabsinc@hotmail.com or PM me through the forums and I'll review the submission and contact you for whatever info is needed to keep everything honest.

uhm actually i highly suggest you take those down because if someone gets hacked you are the first to blame for giving people easy access to their IP's cheater or not what you did was wrong.
so if you say these guys fucked with someone else's computer then who is the idiot who wasnt protecting themselves, obviosly someone on your end. but i figure your just saying they fucked with someones computer because you want it to seem right. well its not. go fuck a duck. |
You people can whine and cry all you like, and even if I have to remove the post from the forums, the list will stay there. Cheaters don't deserve to not be exposed. If they get hacked, oh well, ask me if I care. Then ask me who hacked first. I spoke with a personal friend who is a lawyer for a firm that prosecutes electronic crimes and he said it is perfectly legal and within my rights to post. My suggestion is to worry about yourself, and keep your IP off the list, then you'll have no problems.
|
hacking is different than cheating dumbshit. and its obvios you dont have a friend who is a lawyer because he would tell you that posting personal information on ANYONE on the internet is not within your rights to post as those rights are not by law but by forum rules and terms of agreement. moron, plain and simple moron.

Jesus Christ. It's a game. G-A-M-E, GAME. An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime. You take this WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY too seriously. |
Such a list isn't of any value for a banlist for your server, as I for one would not people from a server who I do not even know what and if they've done something wrong.
A guy gets a lucky shot, or is just fooking good, gets accused of cheating, and ends up on the list. I'd always rather keep my own list of those, and I think most people want that. |
It is very illegal to post peoples IPS in a public website.
Now if i was a cheater and i was on that list I would contact your Web Host and get you shut down. You cant post peoples IPs on the internet. Its private information and you are breaking the law. Btw this is the main reason i wouldnt get involved with that whole Admins Unite thing ,How can an 11yr old server admin(example) have the right to ban someone from 50 servers because the guy was better than the 11 yr old. Where do you draw the line between cheater and idiot Admin?? KdjaC |
You should just ban everyone...BAN the f**king lot!
I have the perfect solution, I create a multi-player game on my own computer and turn the maximum clients settings to `1` and then I run about and shoot at the walls, sometimes camp with a shotgun or maybe a rocket. Its good because I dont get spammed, I dont get shotgunned, noone uses neon skins or sunflares, and im pretty sure the girls eyes on that poster dont follow me `everywhere` I walk. p |
Please do not post peoples IP address here. I will edit your post or link.
You should take the warning from the other members, that Posting people's IP address is not the right thing to do. |

Noctis, ive seen many people who were just good and kicking a clan's ass get banned for some gay reaosn like, "they had an aimbot" or "he was shooting thru walls". so i doubt u want that shit on ur list. plus bannign ips is so stupid, everytime i reset my modem i get a new one, which means some other guy with my isp is gonna find himself banned on a few mohaa servers and immune on a few otheres. ;P
anyways saying cheaters should die and rot in hell, man u need a life. this is a game as someone else pointed out. if mohaa makes up so much of ur life that u have nothing better to do then harass cheaters, then go pay punk buster about 2 million bucks so we can crack it in the first day anyways. |
You make a very good point on banning players. Cooki3, but if the admin knows what they are doing. They could ban the whole sub net down to the class B or even C but then know one would be playing on there server. So it defeats the purpose.
It's easier to have active admins who manually kick someone. It's even better when the "person" being kicked tries to release and renew his/her IP by resetting their modem. It takes 10x longer to do that then hit the ban button on autokick. This goes back to: How do you really know why the person is being banned? did they just play too good that day and pissed the admin off as Cooki3 stated? I'm all for banning players who cheat but a public banning is not the way to go, IMO |
well i got banned from the 420 clan server because i announced the fact that their players were going behind the map on the TOW hanger map.
|
i agree, posting their IPs is a totally different ball game. names would do fine. yes, harder to ban them, but posting IPs is flat out wrong. lets see, hmm. wow, look at little Johnny! he is using a wallhack, lets give his IP out to all the hackers out there so he can recieve his "cheater's death"! thats craziness. make the list, just block out those IPs.
from the attitude you present, who the hell would want to play on your server. |
After a long, long day at work, and a few conversations with some AA community members for whom I have the utmost respect, I've decided to make this post.
First thing's first, and the first thing is I would like to apologize to the community. Having thought out the situation and my actions to their ends, my words were overly harsh and my actions uncalled for. Second, I would like to address the legal aspect of my actions. The precedence for my claim of legality is Rowell vs. Cloud9 Communications, Inc. In this case, Mr. Rowell was disputing the cancellation of his ISP and web hosting services by Cloud9 for using the space to distribute "warez". Although this was a minor case, and he would later face and be convicted of federal charges, various internet privacy advocates took the opportunity to involve themselves in hopes of setting a precedence. Their claim was against a website which displayed the IP addresses of people who caused trouble on their forums. No clue why the site displayed them, I didn't look that far into it. Mr. Rowell was discovered when he mistakenly sent an incorrect PM to a person discussing illegal software. This person matched up the IP and traced it. With this information, he contacted Cloud9 and they in turn cancelled Mr. Rowell's services and contacted the FCC. Hence the case Mr. Rowell brought against Cloud9. The judge in that case, Judge Harrion, ruled that because Mr. Rowell connected to a website which provided no privacy assurances and not under the condition of anonymity, his IP became public information and access was not restricted. Mr. Rowell's council later appealed (he had already been sentenced to a federal penitentiary by the time his appeal was heard) on his behalf that anonymity on the Internet is implied. They lost their appeal. Therefore, legally, the owner or administrator of any web service to which a person connects has the right to do what he/she wishes with the IP address, as it becomes public information unless the web site specifically states privacy of information or the connecting person only connects under the condition of anonymity and this is specifically decided prior to connection. If anyone wants to reference this, go to your local public or university library (with a legal section) and look up Rowell vs. Cloud9 Communications, Inc. It is a civil case and was presided over by Judge Harrion. As far as the ethics of what I did. They are indeed marginal, and open to the interpretation of the individual. At the time of my actions, I did not feel they were unethical, however in retrospect I deeply regret them. Although the people on that list inconvenienced me in some way, whether by ruining my game, the game for others, or crashing my server, wishing with malice against them and offering up their IPs to the masses for whatever purpose was unethical. What have I done? I've already changed the URL (the page will still exist on a private URL, the list is shared b/w a group of servers, all registered with MOHadmin's Recommended Server list) and will not again make it public. I would like to make it clear that I am apologizing to the community, not the people on that list. I should not have done what I did. I can only ask the forgiveness of the community, really. I have no great anything to offer. I can only offer my support and the support of my friends and clan members to the community. Again, I apologize to the community and I hope that you can forgive my actions. |
Thanks Capt.
To whom it may concern. IP address are public information. You can do a "whois" on any domain or registered IP address. You can find some very personal info this way. There is no legality behind "posting IP address" You can also use the -a switch via ping and get the computer name from any IP address ( most ) . If they are static. Remeber that anyone with a dynamic IP will change their IP address and or someone else will get their old IP address. It's a long shot that the other person will play MOH let along join your server but you never know. I just didn't think this should have been posted here on aa.com. I thank you for reconsidering what you did. This also leads me to believe that your not one of the many "cookoo ( spelling? )" admin out there who are very irresponsible with their so called list. I understand what you are doing. Just be careful who you share your info with and who you receive other IPs from. Thanks again. |
Capt. Noc. since that post was so long i'm not gonna read past the first 3 sentences. Anyways i did read that it was legal to post ip's on the net? ialways thought it was illegal[/quote]

thanks for your reconsideration of posting IPs.
