Does anyone...

actually like rockets? why did they bring it back in spearhead...maybe we should tell EA to get rid of it in the next expansion

Airborne Butters 12-01-2002 08:12 PM

I thought it was quit ridiculos how EA included Shotguns and Rockets, yet neglected to put in the FJ-42 and Mauser Nade rifle.

i like rockets. they're a lot of fun and i find them harder to use than MGs, which is usually what the people who bitch about rockets are using.

Cerialkiller 12-01-2002 08:18 PM

yea there is so many more better weapons they could have added

[DAS REICH] Blitz 12-01-2002 08:48 PM

well they have to include rockets and shotguns or else all noobs will spaz

why would EA add a lot of new weapons in a single expansion pack? i'm sure the FG-42 will be along sooner or later.

the only real n00bs i see using rockets fail to make a single kill. the ones i see complain are using stgs and getting waxed left and right by a single rocket while failing to hit anything themselves with 30 rounds.

I love my bazooka, but with this "no firing while running" mod on, the panzerschreck is almost impossible to use.

DeadBolt 12-02-2002 10:26 AM

Rockets aren't n00b weapons. Try using a rocket on realism vs some little lamer with an StG. That is tough to do. Rocketing does take skill, unless you just shoot it two feet from yourself killing you and the enemy. lol

weapons are really well balanced in SH, and besides some people have different ways to have fun! whether they use rockets! or shiotties!! it's a fun game! if a soldier wants a realistic game, make or buy a server and have a realistic match! ha! c? M16:

I thought I would put my 2 cents in here. I don't hate rockets. To tell you the truth, I think the MG is more of a newb weapon than the rocket, and to me there is nothing worse than getting STG'd by a newb! A rocket is different, you get 3 shots with the rockets, after that, you either run around with a pistol or you pick up another gun. You NEED rockets in Spearhead. Ever been on TOW maps like Flughafen and Berlin with those blasted AA guns???? You could let them mow down your whole team for 20 minutes or you could just take out a rocket and blow up the damn thing! bigzooka:

really nice bud, how big is it?...and nooby rockey users just make the game harder. More fun if u ask me oOo:

Rockets and shotguns. I hate them. They are in the game, ok. But they are plain annoying.

Turn around a corner, quietly. Whoops, bang, you're dead.

Consider this: One of the taunts in AA is 'Nice shot!'.

Ever thought when killed by a rocket or shotgun: Damn, that was some pretty damn good shooting? No, it's like killing mosquito's with a flamethrower. It works, but no satisfaction. Too easy.

I usually use an SMG but with all this talk about rockets I think Ill go try it on SH mwah:

I wouldn't mind the rockets so much if you could actually use them realistically -- so to speak. Case in point, rockets were designed to take out armor, but you don't get much of a change to do this in MP mode, likewise, they were also used to gain entry points into buildings, but again, almost no maps allow you to blast holes for this purpose (Malta did have a couple spots you could knock holes I don't know if you could use a rocket to do this.)

BTW, bazooka rocket shells weigh about 10lbs each, you really couldn't move very fast carrying more than 3 of them along with your other gear.

As for shotties, they allow you to frag without any real need to aim. Expand the spread, and only allow them in ff-on maps and you'll see the reason they weren't widely used in combat. Of course some maps actually allow you to fire over a decent distance, in which case a shottie is real handicap.

rockets are most fun on maps like southern france and v2 when there is alot of gay campers/snipers who just sit there. but on some lvls its just uselses

yes, every time i get shot with a rocket other than point blank range. people act like they automatically seek to their target like some games when you have to actually make a non-latency related calculation on where to aim at a moving target, and even stationary since they zag after a certain range.

it's hard enough trying to get people to pick up a rocket to blow up the god damn flak88s or aa guns because everybody thinks they are n00b weapons, they would rather get mowed down than make good use of a weapon.
