SH Maps Giving Zone the Boot
 

Noticed something over the weekend that pissed me off to NO end...

Some MP maps won't let the ole Zone man in! I find a server with, say, Holland running. I connect to the server, get about 2 seconds of the Holland loading screen, then *BOOM* I'm back in the friggin' lobby.

Any idea what's going on? I seem to be able to get into maps like Thunder II, Stadt, and the old AA maps, but maps like Holland and Malta boot me like an extra point. I only noticed this behaviour AFTER I installed the 2.11 "patch".

Any info would be much appreciated.

Open the console after you go back to the lobby to find the reason you got booted.

Happens to me all the time, you just have to rejoin the server and it will usually work

I'll give it a whirl tonight and get back to you guys.

yes, happens to me constantly. just type reconnect in the server. that shall break you free into the server.

its the patch zone, its that bull they added that if the server have it u must have it

I had that happen awile ago and was a sound issue.
These are some things you might want to tryout.

1. make sure your sound drivers are current.
2. make sure the audio settings are correct to the type of card you are using.
3. try turning the sound settings to a lower setting.. see if it clears up.

I know this for a fact.
your not the only 1 getting this problem.

when i get booted like that i just type reconnect in the console and that usually solves my problem. on top of that, the map is still fresh in the memory and loads alot faster.

A sound issue? How do you figure?

Well, it happened tonight on the aan.net server when Bahnoff (SP?) loaded. I checked the console and I saw this error:

Client/Server map checksum mismatch: c0248d59/c8bc5166

I tried reconnecting...no dice.

I'll try the sound card driver update since I'm already using the lowest sound setting.

I updated my SB Live! with the newest drivers on the Creative site, and still no go.

Is there anything else I can try (apart from a full uninstall/registry wipe/re-install)?

Better start backing up Zoner... I have no idea what to do now.

Go back up your saved games and screenshots, and get ready to reinstall.

I hope someone else knows what to do. But i guess you could probably get a new sound card. =\

Only time I had similar problems was when my SH patch didn't get installed correctly (long story), and I started getting checksum errors all over the place, and like you couldn't get into SH maps, but others (AA maps) were fine.

I'd recommend uninstalling SH, reinstall SH, then install the SH patch.

My apologies if this doesn't work.

Just remember to back everything up before you reinstall Zoner.

I s'pose I'll hafta wipe it. I don't really have anything to backup...I didn't get too far in the single player missions anyway. They were too slow and choppy to play.

Hopefully, this will solve it once and for all.

Damn it, someone kill me.

Zone, is your Main folder "clean" of all mods? If not then this is probably the reason you are getting booted. Some mods that worked with AA do not work with SH or are glitchy. Ex, the Flak88 mod caused major problems in my game, so I had to remove it before I could start any map. Make sure you only have to 0-6 pak files in the directory, and then check out ChickBoo's list of working mods at AAN.net

Thanx Hollywood, I'll try that too. I know I removed the Flak88 mod and all other mods/maps before I installed SH.

Now all I have in the way of mods are SH-specific mods like red's HUD mod, a kleen screen mod, and a SH-made blood mod. You think it could be my crosshair? That's the only mod I'm using from the old AA days...

Well i think its the only solution to this point just make shure to save the files u want to save before reignstaling.

Just an update:

I did an full reinstall and everything's KOOL!! I'm sure my map problem was keeping all you kiddies up at night...heh heh.

some servers have that damn thing runnin that if you have any mods in your main it wont let you in..you gota match up with the server...i have it turned off on my server..i turned it off so all my old modded moh maps still work without you havin to download them...stop by my server and see if it works for you...be a good test...BUTCHES SPEARHEAD MOD...24.28.11.58 HOPE TO SEE YA THERE...it runs every evining from about 6:30 to arond 12...later on weekends...BUTCHER

i reinstalled twice.... still same shit... error cheksum map mismatch shit. ...i'll try and get rid of mods.
