Yea ya know what, I'll stick with DirectX8. Last time I DL'd 8.1 and everything went down the crapper! MOHAA as well as many other games wouldn't work.

is it just me or games can't support anything higher than 8.1 yet can they?

DirectX8.1a works fine.

No devil, no game yet supports DX9, as the technoligy is brand new.

direct X drivers tend to fuk up ppls systems until Microsoft fixes every thing.. unlike EA who would say theyd fix it and then do nothing

Actually, they have a list of about 10 games that support DX 9 and the new geforce FX card thats 40% faster than the Raedon 9700.

Its a full version. Beta was released 3 months ago (or more). I installed DX9 and didnt do anything really. Maybe made the fps up about 5. Safe to use i think.

I've noticed an improvement in sharpness, though I'm running only a GeForce 2. Seems safe to run. No problems.

My benchmarks running 1280x1024 were about the same running 2001se build 330 from http://www.guru3d.com. It was pretty close to 7800 points, close to 9000 running 1024x768. The demos are incredible, check it out.

Yeah, I istalled it thinking, ok its not going to make much of a difference...but wow, my BF1942 runs smooth as hell now, before i was getting a little shoppy when alot of things are going on, but it really improved my performance! here is a direct link to the file if you don't want to do the web install

Says who? I think you're the only person I've ever heard of having an issue with DirectX causing hangs/crashes. Usually video drivers or BIOS updates will cause crap like this, not video add-ins like this.

Not only do you have to download the DirectX9 program but you have to download a patch for your Radeon 9700. Without this patch for your vid card it will do nothing. NVidia doesnt support this as of yet. I guess I'll have to wait.

Due to things happening that I don't have time to go into, my system had been running MOH quite poorly. I installed DX9 this past weekend, and I'm back to running MOH smoothly again. So, for whatever it's worth, there's my $0.02.

Installed. Works Fine. I can see a difference. Get it. Install it. And play.
