New Desert Combat Mod is out!
 

The new Desert Combat mod for BF1942 is out. Yea I know most here don't like BF, but it's a damn good mod. Was ripping up some Iraq ground forces with an A-10 Warthog! It's only an Alpha so far, but it looks promising. Has new Wep's, Tanks, and some new planes. There is also a chopper, but it's mega fuckin hard to pilot.

bf1942 is really fun actually, the charcter models are crappy but the environment and gameplay is really good.

Yea man. Before the patch, the game sucked, now it's phenominal. The Desert Combat Mod is really good! On my comp the graphics are mediocore at best. On my freinds 2 ghz bomb ass comp, all the graphics are excellent.

How can you play DC? I d/led it but its just a bunch of RFA files

I gots a p3 450 MHZ and it runs alright on mine. I set everything low.

Please be aware that this is the .1 alpha version, and as the name implies, will be incomplete. (very)
Unzip the DesertCombat into the root of Battlefield1942. Launch Battlefield, go to multiplayer and choose custom game. Then pick Desert_Combat.

Currently DC is only on Bocage, El_Alamien and BattleAxe in both Conquest and Co-op modes.

Good job though. The AH-64 is a bit touchy, but I got the hang of it and was blasting Jerry's outta there Tigers oOo:

Still fun though. It totally reforms my thoughts on BF. This mod makes it a lot more fun to play.

I hope this mod gets supported by EA, and not get legal issues like saying it's warez or some crap.

Me and my freinds were just playing, and the one jealous freind killed me 2 times with a mig when I was on the ground. So I finally get a tank and cruise over to the allie base, kill my other freind then grab the A-10. I get up in the air and rip the jealous freind a new hole! He gets all mad and quits. God I love that plane!

ok extract the file then go into mods, then there's a folder called desert combat...take that, and put it into your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods (must have 1.2 patch) to load go click multiplayer and it says custom game and select desert combat from there, you're all set

Don't extract it too mods! Extract it to your like roots main folder thingy.
This is what mine is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942

Extract it, then go into "custom game" and select Desert Combat

in bf1942 the guns are horrible but the tanks,planes,jeeps and maps are cool

The Kharakov map is nice, and so is Berlin. I really like Gazala and Op. BattleAxe.

Hey SW. since your part of the DC mod and im banned from the bf42 forums heres my suggestion for the next alpha release. The M1A1's top speed was 62 MPH. It should be that way in DC. Also it should destroy any tank even a tiger with two shots. The humvees should have armor plating all around its frame and even underneath so when soldiers drive over mines it wont kill the soldiers but destroy the vehicle itself. I realize the mod is in Alpha stage but these are just some ideas if the DC team wants to make a mod based on the gulf war. It would be nice if the Abrahams had the number of people like it does now 4. Driver,Gunner, and tank shell loaded, and navigator to spot enemy tanks. IS there going to be night missions? The war did start at night so all M1A1's and M1a2's should be equipped to fight night battles. Great mod i love it and hope to see the next release ill download it. Flying planes in this mod is pretty kickass. Allies have a big advantage over Axis, but it will be fixed in later versions.
