Just touched a M1
 

My dad's friend had one. I felt like I held a piece of history right there. Kinda heavy at first but I got used to it. He had about 7 clips for it. He also had a SMLE(Short Magazine Lee-Enfield) God, I loved all that. biggrin: Also got to hold a Magnum.

The cool thing is he also offered to take me to a gun-range sometime. You know I'll be all over that opportunity. cool:

I'm hoping to buy a Thompson when I turn 18, but I'm not sure what the laws about full-autos are here.

You live in Canada? Because I'm pretty sure it's illegal in almost every state to purchase or own a full auto weapon. Actually, I can't think of a state that allows it except maybe Nevada.

I'm like WTF! AHHH! There are all talking over the mega phone saying "put it down" so I did and then my mom's like "Eric what the hell did you do now". After 10 mins of them looking at it, the figured what it was and left. Good thing we moved...

Yeah i got to hold a garand for a bit, its fucking AWESOME...i also got to hold an M16, SAW, TOW Missle, M16+M203, AK47 and 74 (pieces of shit) and a borwning 50 cal machine gun..oh and a fucking multi barrled grenade launcher!! biggrin:

Ill be purchasing the Colt off of a site I found, while i will have to look around for the Carbine. Ill be getting them for reenactment events, so mostly i will be shooting blanks.

Speaking of full-auto. My dad remembered when he bought an Uzi. The guy at the shop started to tell him what not to do to make it full auto. He's like, "Don't file here, or here, and definatly not here, and it won't be full auto." He was actually doing the filing while saying all that. biggrin: Name of the store was Guns R' Us.

LOL AK47 is NOT a piece of shit. When you actually get to fire the weapons you mentioned and not just hold them then I think you can judge what weapons are pieces of shit! The AK47 is the best assult rifle produced(as long as you don't get a Chineese production) The M16 is a fine weapon also but it requires pristine(good quality) ammo. An AK can be dropped in the mud dunked in water and still fire. Its also a very simple weapon. You should be able to field strip it in 30 seconds blindfolded. 3 working pieces. So before you judge a weapon actually fire it. Let me know I will let you test fire mine. I have a Romainian make and I can get Russian Wolf ammo for 5 cents per round.

You wouldn't say that if you got shot by one. Especially the 74, its bullest leave extremely nasty wounds. STG 44 would still kill someone if maintained, and I've shot them. You can buy a Czech CZ-24 (mauser copy) which is one of the most accurate bolt action rifles ever for under $100
