Got a job :(

Well after 2 months of just being lazy and not gettin a job, I finally return to the work force. It's not as flashy as my last job, cook. But I'm back in the restaraunt buisness of being a dish washer. Hey it's simple and I get money. Oh well...

What do you guys do for jobs?

12-26-2002 10:16 AM

i worked for mcdicks for a month and got fired for telling boss to bugger off.

dad got pissed and i was like "shit dude its not my fault he is an ass!" dad ended up seeing a former assist manage who agreed with me and also ran into the gal who trained me and said she left because of him.

Im prolly gonna look for a job workin supermarket or some shit like that in the new year.

Airborne Butters 12-26-2002 10:23 AM

Thats what happend at my last job. I was doing fine and dandy as a cook, then new managers come in and start just totally reforming the place. Next thing ya know the new manager is coming up to me saying "I'm sorry but you can't be a cook anymore" I'm like why? He says I can't be trusted or some shit talking about over cooking food and shit. I looked at him and was like "I make salads, how can I over cook them!?" He was like "you don't grill?" of course I said no and then he's like " Well I have to take you off being any sorta cook" making some BS excuse. So I told em to fuck off and gave him the finger then left.

Star85 12-26-2002 10:37 AM

I work at Dunkin Donuts hehe.

Bazooka_Joe 12-26-2002 10:47 AM

Exactly butters, whatever gets you cash. I started out the same way when I was 14.

I work at Columbia University in NYC as a computer tech.

Airborne Butters 12-26-2002 10:52 AM

I've worked dish washer almost all my jobs. First job was dish, second was dish but then got moved up to cook, and now this job I'll be a dishwasher. I personally don't care about it. I'm fuckin fast as hell at it, I've gotten it down to a science almost.

Bazooka_Joe 12-26-2002 10:57 AM

I was a dishwasher, then a busboy, then a pantryman (salads, cold appatizers), then waiter. All at the same place.

Innoxx 12-26-2002 11:10 AM

I job owns all yours.

Old Reliable 12-26-2002 11:48 AM

JowShmoe 12-26-2002 12:01 PM

i work at Moe's. its a sub shop like subway, except we don't make half the sandwiches subway makes, our ingredients suck, and my friend who just started working there is getting more money than me (i have been working there for a year and a half) damn i need a subway sandwich.

Coleman 12-26-2002 12:14 PM

Airborne, did your boss fire you from being a cook because you ate everything?!!! Just wondering!

Innoxx 12-26-2002 12:17 PM

Cartman needs to be a tree planter or something; he needs to get rid of some of that extra cargo he's carrying.

(5th)Captain Rodriguez 12-26-2002 12:20 PM

Back in 1996 I worked at McDonalds making $4.25 an hour. Looking back it was a good experience and decent money for a high school kid. I ended up going to college and becoming a police officer in the state of Wisconsin since March 2001. My job is nice. I get to deal with all sorts of people, see exciting things and whatnot. Although it has its bad days too.

Zap. USMC 12-26-2002 02:14 PM

Having an attitude at work won't get you anywhere. Being an asshole or not, just take the insult or constant nagging like a man and do your job. You're getting paid for it, so why bitch??

Milla 12-26-2002 02:29 PM

omg joe, i was a busser to, that shit was pretty fun because the people i worked with were cool. I made 5 an hour, plus tips (anywhere from 20-70 a night depending on how crowded it was) But the place shut down cause one manager drew a pic to the others on how he was gonna kill them, another manager was smoking crack in the elevator in the back. And they didnt pay since it opend 7 months ago, so its closed lol

Pfc.Green 12-26-2002 02:43 PM

Until I leave for boot, I'm working for my uncles contracting company...best part of the job is when you miss the nail and hit your thumb instead hake:

BallisticWookie 12-26-2002 05:58 PM

I work at Electronics Boutique/EB GAMES..... Best job in the world biggrin:

By the way Butters, just be thankful that you were even able to get a job, some people are so useless they cant even wash dishes. It's a small step, and it will hopefully lead on to bigger and better things. Keep your head up and work hard, people always recognise commited and hard workers.

Pyro 12-26-2002 06:10 PM

EB games pissed me off today, they were sold out of suikoden 3 hake:

Anyways, I am a Swimming Instructor/Lifeguard

I wash cars at a car dealership in the summer when theres no school because my dad knows the owner. He owns a BMW dealership and drives a Mercedes-Benz convertable for some reason.

Airborne Butters 12-26-2002 11:13 PM

I just finished my first day on the job and oh man it sucks. I'm giving it a month, in the meantime I'm finding a new one. IT's so boooring there! Never anythiing to do and no one to talk to. Plus at times there is a bit of work and it's hard as fuck. I don't like it. Compared to my last job, on the first day they were all like "Hi I'm ...." and made me feel at home. This job is "Hey you" no one introduced themselves or anything.

Currently I'm a Software Testing Specialist, but most of my experience has been in web usability and user interface design.

My current job has its slack times when I'm waiting for the developers to give me a new build to test, so I get to mess around with Photoshop (big shocker there, huh?).

I s'pose I can't complain too much...people are nice, pay is decent, dress code is uber-casual (I'm wearing my Sens jersey as we speak).
