Whittaker is already a self-made millionaire. His construction companies generate $17 million a year in revenue, he said.

Why does some $17 mil farmer from WV get the ticket, while some poor family doest? Its not like he needs the money....cmon, $17 mil a year?!??! I dunno, I mean its great hes putting some of it to a church, but still....

It should be against the law for people that wealthy to play the lottery. what the hell does he need it for? What is he going to do with it? OK, he gave some money to his church, that's good. I wonder how many youth programs or charities will see the rest? oOo:

Uh, guys......money donated to churches are used for charity purposes. Its a lot easier for someone to dump 10% off at a church and let them decide who gets it, rather than singuling out charities himself. Then he looks like hes favoring Jerrys kids over PETA's problems. Get up off your DUFF and actually go to a church and talk to them about where donations go. You'd be surprised. Yes, some of the money pays for cleaning the church, buying newer pues(sp?) and putting in more parking. However its a minority.


Get tired of people who read the word "church" or "god" and immediately turn in to that rebellious kid who acts like god spit in his face or something. I tell ya, I dont believe in a lot of things, but I dont get honestly pissed off when someone speaks about them . wow man settle down...churches don't sit there and use all the offerings they get to buy themselves stuff, sure they use some to keep the payments on the church, but most of it goes to charities around the world, it pays for missions trips, it feeds hungry kids in some 3rd world country. So before you go off like that why don't you get a clue whats really going on?

I think it's a good thing. This guy has a lot of money, and knows all about having millions of dollars, so, rather than being over-protective, greedy and psychoatic about his lotto money, like someone who has never had so much money would act, he'll have no problem with giving it to a church, because he gets a sum of 17 mil. a year....Not hard to let go of a sum to a charity of some type....

If someone else won it, maybe a poor family...Do you think they'd really give any of it to charity? Helll no! They would have spent a long time with no money...They're gonna want to live it up! There goes all the money! Whereas, if the money goes to charities...It's gonna help more families than just one poor family.

I think it's great.
