Down with cheaters--once and for all!

You know you hat'em, you just don't know how to get rid of'em, right? Well, I have a plan.

I know every single one of you here hates the idea of cheat vs cheat; It's really so stupid. And everyone here hates cheaters. I suggest we rebell.

First, we ban them from every single server we posibly can.
Then we ban them from AA. After that, we post their MOHAA and message board, AIM, MSN, YIM, etc etc on every site we possibly can. Hopefuly we can wipe out a LOT of MOHAA cheaters... M16: fire1: But the other games are a different story.

It's worth a try I say.
Squad, arm your weapons... cool:
It's time to go into battle! swordfight:

tcd12642 12-26-2002 09:45 PM

Also, if you are an elite at MOHAA, you can still kill the n00b cheaters, but who likes going up against them? New and beter cheats come out all the time, which we fuc*ing hate. Oh, I need an anti-cheat too... :(

vVolf 12-26-2002 10:13 PM

Well if you can figure out a way to ban their I.P. Adreesses, even when they change them call me back. =)

Nice idea though.

Ban their subnet/ISP. Works for AAN vs Powell.

No, actually port scanning their IP will do nothing other than perhaps tell you what ports are open on their PC.

I though powell was an AOL DSL user.

As a follow up to the MAC discussion.

The proper way to find a remote PC's MAC address is the command
[code:bfb87]nbtstat -A {insert remote IP}[/code:bfb87]

For example:

[code:bfb87]nbtstat -A 127.0.0.1[/code:bfb87]

Sgt., you needn't worry. So far I've had no reason to ban subnets except for AOL (and that's because of Powell's abuse of their huge IP subnet). And I think in the case of most other servers, you'll find the same line of thinking.

Bazooka_Joe 12-27-2002 09:08 AM

This is a nice theroy, but in turn, it takes alot of work. Small steps, like programs like Delator, Autokick, and the Anti-Spawn fix are just some to clean the MOH community up.

BoB_Shifty 12-27-2002 10:09 AM

true to this joe. i find that delator 2.0 keeps alot of the baddies away.

Cheers,

Shifty

Ea games ive heard is developing a massive anti cheat and hack patch for dedicated servers. This will block hackers, aimbots, wallhacks, info red etc. EA games is all for cheatless servers.

BoB_Shifty 12-27-2002 11:56 AM

thats cool U. but as seen before they say things that they will never deliver. i guess time will tell eh.

Cheers,

Shifty

tcd12642 12-27-2002 09:39 PM

What? I use Cox high speed internet, in virginia. I like it... I don't cheat...

I hope so. I really do. But for now, we have to own the cheaters by ourselves. fire1: M16:

WIth certain routers or firewalls, your IP is changed everytime you restart, so... Plus, with banning IPs and subnets, I just might file a class action suit for you harassing me. :) (See thread "The Law Always Prevails")

Actually, because it's my money that's being spent on the server, it's up to me who plays on the server and who doesn't. Pretty much I get the last say as to anything going on with the server. Anyone who breaks my rules is therefor infringing upon my rights to decide what goes on. My first line of defense is kicking you from the server. Since most of you idiots think it's more fun to jump back on and piss me off instead of finding somewhere to actually play the game, then my second line of defense kicks in: ban your IP.

Now, we all know how simple it is to get a new IP. Besides being incredibly hard up that you would do this just to continue pissing me off, you're now harrassing me and the people on my server. There's no reason yet for the law to get involved, but if you continue to find ways around me stopping you from harrassing me, then legally I have every right to hit you with a law suit. And I don't see how I could possibly lose this suit.

In terms of the various websites that condone cheating being cause for criminal action, I don't know. That would really be much more technical than I dare get involved in - HOWEVER, such websites that discuss how you can crash servers and FURTHERMORE discuss particular servers and hacking into them... now you're not only harrassing the people who pay for the server and the people who frequent said server, but you're also involving yourself in cyber-terrorism. I don't think you really want to find yourself talking to the FBI about such matters.

The proper way to find a remote PC's MAC address is the command
[code:f033c]nbtstat -A {insert remote IP}[/code:f033c]

For example:

[code:f033c]nbtstat -A 127.0.0.1[/code:f033c][/quote:f033c]

And what exactly will this do? What program will you run to ban the MAC address?? And when you do, they can just clone it. There is no point really. Like all anti-cheat programs, it will stop the common cheaters, but that's it.

uh, so you're saying that it's illegal to keep someone off a server but it's legal to come in and fuck up someone else's property?

I guess then you think that you can break into my house and start fucking up stuff but I can't shoot you for it, it don't work that way, at least not in the USA.

tcd12642 12-28-2002 12:33 PM

Hmmm...What about creating a server FOR cheating...? mad: But we shouldn't have to do it...but its a thought.
