hondas and jeeps?
well, sense the average price of a used honda and jeep are about the same, i was wondering which is better. anyone have a honda? is it good/bad-i know they last a long time. anyone have or had a jeep cherokee? is it good or bad?
im 16-so its not like i need a new car. i also live in the inner city-so its not like i will be drving through trees and mud. i live in GA-so i dont worry about snow. thanks |
For your location its up to you. Honda's run forever but you'll get the label of ricer, and every other teenager will want to "race" you even if your not into that BS. The Jeeps are well built and depending on the year are pretty well loaded and comfortable.
Me im a fan of smaller cars, so i would choose the Honda. Now if you had said a Jeep Wrangler, my vote would be the Jeep. Wranglers are just bad ass, esspecially pre 94 when they had the square head lights. |
I got a jeep 2002 and its real sweet. Its kinda rockey when going over big bumps but it looks nice inside and outside. Have had hardly any problems.
|
Hondas = RICE!
trust me, don't get put in that situation. |
lol
|
depend on how many mile you want to do a year and whether you want it in in the machanics garage or you own.
Time to piss the americans off. ever heard off a word called build quailty go with the hond and sod the names their only jelous as there is still being fixed as it american made. |
i got a 1942 Ford GPW. Talk about fun, it rules!

if i got a jeep it would be a TJ because their good in snow, mud & road. plus theiy look good. i woulnt go with a cherokee because they are really bad on gas & their really big, for your first car i woulnt really recomend a big ass suv because if your not very used to parking in tight places & stuff you dont really wanna use a big SUV. a honda? well what can i say? ickky. yea so if i were you i would get a TJ.

Let's get one thing straight.
Honda doesn't equal rice. Honda with a bunch of stickers of proformance parts it doesn't have equals rice. I drive a Honda and they are good cars. Alot of uneducated people yell rice because they drive an old pinto and don't like someone with a nicer car then them. As soon as I get a digital camera I will post a pic of my Honda and you can decide. |
its the peile with the lowered honda hatchbacks with huge rust holes & load mufflers (probly cause their broken) & shitty tint on the windows & an ass ugly paint job that make hondas look bad.
|
hondas are great cars, trust me if you are looking for quality, hondas are the best
|
oh and another thing, with the jeeps..they consume a lot of gas...for your first car i would probably go with a car and not a jeep if you are doing just city driving
|
ok-what abput an Acura legend or an accord. legend-1988 accord-1991
|
go with the accord, make your buying decision based on mileage, car history and prices, also if the buyer can be trusted to give you a fair price...go to the library and ask to look at the blue book price of the car
|
i know the legend owner. its been the only owner and she took good care of it. i drove it today and it felt comfortable. they wont charge me over $1900 for the car because some of the things dont work-ill fix them. i figured 1900 then spend a couple hundred and ill basically have a new car for 3000$
|
you can check blue book online, kellybluebook.com , i think thats it

Get a Harley:

How did that one get in there? Damn, i cant edit it. Oh well... |
You know, just because you own a certain type of car....say a Honda....it doesnt make you a ricer/riceboy (as we call them in Aus). Honda's, especially Integra's and Civics are outstanding little cars and have tough as hell engines. Get an exhaust, lower it, put some nice wheels on it and you have a nice car. Go putting stickers and shit on it, body mods and that stuff, then you'll be called a ricer. Stick to the basics, maybe save up for a Turbo conversion, keep your car nice and clean on the outside and spend your cash on what counts....the engine.

before you buy any car put the pedel right to the floor to see if it has any balls. you want a car with balls when going on a hilly twist 3 hours drive & your stuck behind some grandma going 5 in an 80 zone & collecting a line of cars behind her about 35 cars long. mad: cry:

I DRIVE A JEEP
i drive a jeep wrangler.98.i wouldnt trade it for anything. i bought it new and have never had a problem.id get the jeep if i were you.
|
scrotum a TJ? Why in the hell would he wanna buy that. There such a waste of money. They look cool but there about $20000 +
|
their awsome, they not only look cool but they will pretty much go trough anything.
|
Well, if I were you I'd go with the Honda, it's not like you're going to do any off roading. The honda is good enough to get from point A to point B efficiently, plus the Honda gets good gas mileage. I'm gonna look for a car when this fucking snow thaws out. I hate it when people buy a chevy suburban just because everyone else has one.
|
seriously these guys dont know anything about buying a first car, buy a jeep? lol are you on crack?
|
well he dint say weather or not he was going to be off roading with it, does he lived in the country or city, how much he plans on driving, how much $ is he planning on spending? a little more info would be helpfull
|
I wanted a Jeep when I was like 13, but then I learned alot of crap don't come standard on them, and they guzzle alot of gas.
|
go American, our cars can take more abuse
(a must for a first car biggrin: ) |
How true, my first car was a 91 Ford Escort GT, heh. I still think it has the best handling on turns and brakes Ive ever driven.
|
i had a jeep in '93. it probably wouldve been a good "car", but i used it for off roading, so i had a bunch of problems. they get pretty good gas mileage, if you dont drive the hell out of em, and from what i hear insurance is not that bad on em ( i was 17 at the time ). i loved it more than any other car ive had and would buy another with out even thinking about it .

if you have anymore questions feel free to PM me, I would be glad to help
