i don't know what to do, i've got it on the lowest detail settings, in 640x480 and this stupid computer still can't hold on to 10 FPS when i'm fighting
Specs: PIII 500 w/256 mb ram GF2 MX 200 with latest detonater drivers got new drivers for Dx and my mobo to, my friend tweaked the settings and i OVERCLOCKED the thing and it still doesn't get above 15 FPS in firefights i can't play like this, i know this card should be doing better then it is. |
Well as you would know make sure nothing in running in the back ground.
Also make sure your Motherboard is NOT on 2x AGP, that can slow any card down, I have a PIII 933 Geforce 3, 390Mb RAM and when I was on 2x MOH ran like shit! Now I got my new MB for X-Mas, with 4x, and she is running great. Not a lot fo help, but some ideas, also a CPU upgrade could help, i think a 500 is Socket370, so a upgrade to a 800/900Mhz would not cost a lot. ------------------ Luke “Skidrowpunk” Jones-Sexton -Personal Homepage - Skidrowpunk’s Cave! -E-Mail yalbit@gatewaybbs.com.au http://www.skidrowpunk.f2s.com/media/sig_4.jpg |
most probably just a simple CMOS setting at bootup... mine is in there at least
i also heard talk on microsoft boards that 2x - 4x AGP doesnt really do much at all... unless you have an ultra fast mega thousand dollar card... but hey every little bit counts! ------------------ http://www.3rd.homestead.com/files/scott.jpg |
Since I can't play the multi-demo, I still how Mohaa will run on my system. I've got about the same computer specs as Bridger, except the videocard, i've got a geforce 2mx 400. Do you guys think I can play Mohaa (singleplayer) at a normal framerate? And whats the difference between geforce 2mx 200/geforce mx 400?
|
SOMETHING IS UP WITH THAT FUCKING DEMO YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING MOHAA WITH THOSE SPECS THIS DEMO SUX WOLF COCK
------------------ http://www.mohaa.homestead.com/files/reiben.jpg |
mx400 is better than mx200. tomorrow hopefully im going out to buy a verto xtasy geforce2 mx400 64mb pci graphics card http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
------------------ http://www.mohaa.homestead.com/files/reiben.jpg |
I have a Vertro GeForce2 MX400 64MB SDRAM AGP Videocard. I also have a 400MHz Celeron Processor. The thing that sucks, is that it cant be over clocked, and its slowing down my videocard. I run everything at 32 bit, should I be going this ? MOH doesn't look as good as it should, I mean when I have all the settings up, and on everything gets really dark ! Whats up with that ? everything is dark, I hate that, I cant see shit. Whats going on ?

yo dude, i got the same problem as u i bet, i got a P3 600 and geforce2 mx400. Every time i play the game it runs so shitty i just wanna fucking break something. SO, HOW DO U TELL IF UR MOTHERBOARD IS 2x or 4x APG, cuz my video card and all my shit is not the problem, my stuff is ok. I need to know b4 i kill someone.

Well if you have a 2X, it will run a Gforce3 like a Gforce2. So think about that, it really does make a lot of difference.

Someone please help me, read my reply I made above. |
i've closed all proggies in the background, think it's just the demo? I used to get OK frames in RTCW on 800x600 with most settings on high. But either the levels have gotten bigger or in the tweaking i screwed somehting up, because now the game is stuttering every once in a while. Actually, it's blue screening on me when i load a level, gonna try and reinstall, the single player is pretty fun.
Plus i only get 50 FPS in HL and i'm pretty sure this card can do better then that (friend had this exact card in his celeron 500 machine and it worked great in the Q3 engine (he never went below 1024x768) and got 99 FPS in CS). |
my motherboard is ONLY 2x AGP (i think), the comp is like 3 years old. I don't think it has 4x agp, but if it is where do i look?
i'm looking at a mobo upgrade and goin with AMD this time, they much cheaper. |
like skidrow said check to see that nothing is running in the background....to do this hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE and shutdown EVERYTHING except systray and explorer....I used to have a problem with my framrate too...it would only run at 0-10FPS...when I shutdown all progs. the FPS jumped to 30-40...try this
and I'll bet it will come up a little bit....uhhhhhh as for the 2x/4x....I'll be damned if I know...skidrow will prob have to answer that one. ------------------ MEIN EHRE HEISST TREUE !!!!!!!!!! Draufga"gertum=DAS REICH!! 2nd SS Panzer Div. http://dba.gamepoint.net/images/klaus.jpg |

We just have to bite the bullet and upgrade. I'm looking at the new nforce boards. They have a GeForce MX 400 onboard and use DDR ram. For 300 bucks, I'm gonna get the mobo, an AMD XP1600 and 256 PC2100, in a couple of monthes that is. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/frown.gif ------------ 3rd Battalion 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment 82nd Airborne Division "The Blue Devils" http://www.ele.uri.edu/ctc/images/3504thck.jpg [This message has been edited by 3/504th-Cpt.Knight (edited January 01, 2002).] |
Do NOT, by any circumstance use the latest Detonator Drivers, they kill FPS, but make the detail look very nice. I have the detonator drivers from 5/17 on a Duron 950 MHz w/ 256 PC 133 RAM and it runs very nice.

There is a **HUGE** difference between the MX400 and the MX200. The 200 is a lobotomized card. The only thing Geforce about it is the name. This card was only made so that PC venders could say "Geforce2 card included!" and for people who dont know any better to buy. Its quite sad really.
It performs more like a TNT2 then a Geforce2 card. Honestly! I have seen benchmarks comparing the TNT2 to a MX200! I researched everything I could about these Geforce2 cards for a month before making my purchase. And im glad i did.. I might have bought a mx200 buy mistake :-(. Here I found this old link I had. Take a look for more information about the differences between the mx400 and mx200. http://www.planetsavage.net/hardware/siluro/index.shtml |

The solution is to upgrade your processor or get a GF2 normal (not MX) |
ive got a
PIII 866mhz 320mbram geforce2 mx200 32mb and I get 65fps when im standing still outside in the square in the stalingrad map and during a big fight i get around 20-25fps.Indoors isint a problem as I get a max of 90fps.I run at 800x600x16 + medium detail. What can I expect in the demo??? ------------------ |
Hey, some games run like 2 old people having sex on my PC, while other ones run like a rabbit evading a wolf.
I have Duron 900 mhz Geforce 2 MX 400 250MB RAM 20 gig HD my card is 32 bit.....but in windows 32 bit gives me shit graphics and winamp locks up my pc so..WTF! I have all the latest drivers too please mail me at tyranties@aol.com with the subject name GeFORCE 2 TROUBLE? |
What you really have is a Gforce2 MX 200. The 200 has 34MB of ram, and the 400 has 64.
Pentium really sucks ass when it comes to running with a Gforce2mx card. If you do have a P system, 100 MHz and over is the only way to make sure you wont bog out your card. Anything lower, will bog it to hell, like its doing to mine. If you have any kind of AMD procs, thats over 500 MHz, you're set ! AMD makes so much better stuff then Pentium, its amazing ! |

I have the following system and am only getting about 25fps in th game (i know the counter dosent work, but everything is really jerky amd I can tell its not running correctly):
Athlon 800mhz 640mb ram (pc133) GeForce2 MX 400 I don't have 4x agp enabled, but I think it is supoorted by my Mobo. Ill go turn it on in a sec http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif. From the MoH videos I've seen this map looks fairly basic. Im totally dreaing Omaha :/ |
Mine homemade computer runs like a banshee. muahahahaha

After playing with the settings in the SP demo, I found that no matter what I do either with resolution settings or maxing out or lowering the visual quality doesnt affect my fps that much..at most 5 fps. I am running a
1ghtz Athlon Tbird 512 Megs PC 133 Visiontek Geforce3. I run the game at 40s but dips down to 20s in the big gun battles at 1280x1024 maxed out fully. I think its that my Video can handle more..its that the CPU is the bottleneck cause any change I make to my video does not really do anything even at 800x600. I have an Athlon XP 1600+ overclocked and a Geforce3 Ti200 overclocked a little bit, and the game still skips during some turns, and when enemies spawn or something. Do I need more RAM, or do I need to turn down detail or what? It does this at the 'auto configure' settings, which is medium's to max's in advanced, and 800x600x32bit. I have 256MB ddr.

I have the same problem with the graphics in Medal Of Honor: Allied Assult as everyone else. Good frame rate when im alone, but when in a firefight, the frame rate drops below 15 FPS. Somone earlier said that he/she tried to change the graphics settings, but saw no difference in the FPS. I have the same problem. It doesnt matter at what graphic level I run the game at, the FPS are almost the same. The reason for the game being so slow (In my oppnion) is the fact that Medal Of Honor uses such intelligent AI. The PC needs to think for 15 enemies at a time when in an intense firefight, and, as if that’s no enough, has to think for your backup allied team-mates aswell. This is why the Multiplier mode works much better. The Computer doesn’t have to make AI for the opposing team, as they are controlled by other humans. I think you can upgrade your PC’s graphic chip all you want, but wont see much of a difference…
What I am hoping is one of two things will happen: 1) When EA releases the game in another 3 weeks, the AI will be tuned better, and take up less CPU memory to run the artificial intelligence. Or 2) Somone will make and release some sort of patch, that we can download and install into the MOH game folder, which will make the FPS move a lot faster. As it is right now MOH is fun, but be prepared to have frame lag when in intense firefights, in the single player modes. The multiplayer option will work the best, as it is not required that it have any AI programming. In multiplayer you should be able to get into some pretty intense firefights, while keeping the frame rate to a playable tolerance. Also, when the game is released, it may play better, as the music will be coming from the CD, and not on the PC like in the demo. The Computer will have more memory to run the AI when the music in coming from disc, increasing frame rate. That about wraps up my book. Good luck, and happy playing MOH! ------------------ ~Blaze [This message has been edited by TheBlazer (edited January 06, 2002).] [This message has been edited by TheBlazer (edited January 06, 2002).] |
Initally, I had the exact same problem. High FPS when alone, but it raised considerably when in a firefight. Interestingly, all I had to do to fix it was reduce a couple of the graphics and model complexities. So it still looks gorgeous and runs smoothly on my GeForce 2
------------------ Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at. There is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole. |
Yea I noticed in the multiplayer setup you can turn on texture compression, but in the SP setup its listed there but doesnt seem to have a function button. Im on a tbird 1.2 512pc133 and a geforce3 ti-200, and I was still getting some lower frames in the 20's sometimes but prolly averaged around 35. Im still messing with the settings and the new vid card. But like the others said its the AI and the cpu, I would also assume the full version will be more optimized.
------------------ -Frost http://home.maine.rr.com/rba/fsig2.jpg |
It looks as if the game will run faster in single player missions when the retail game is released, because the retail version of Medal Of Honor will contain a texture compression agent, that will shrink the size of the textures, leaving more memory for others aspects of the game. So it looks as if the game will run a bit faster when the retail version comes out http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
I know quite a few will be glad to hear this! ------------------ ~Blaze |
