Should Premier Gordon Campbell resign?

BC, this is your Premier:

Last friday, BC Premier Gordon Campbell was arrested in Hawaii for drunk driving. Today he will anounce whether or not he plans to resign and what he's going to do about the charges against him. Do you think he should resign? Why or why not?

Innoxx 01-12-2003 01:59 PM

I hope so, he fucked up my province so much.

01-12-2003 02:13 PM

yes we know that is our premier.. hell we have known for a long time and we know what he did.. he should resign not just cause of this but because everyone hates him, he fucked over the province and needs to be assasinated.. (man, he sounds like bush)

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 02:18 PM

I agree with the two of you, we should get rid of him.
Thanks to him, my collage fees are bankrupting me, and my school isn't nearly as expensive as some others.

JowShmoe 01-12-2003 03:31 PM

i believe a Premier, is like a govener here in the U.S. (correct me if i'm wrong) in charge of a Canadian province, such as British Columbia.

01-12-2003 06:11 PM

exactly 100%

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 06:37 PM

Well, we find out today if he's gonna resign, I hope he does, but he probably won't hake:

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 07:03 PM

I just thought of something:
This is the second time in a row that a BC premier has been arrested, isn't it?
Damn, we gotta start electing better people to lead our province.

Innoxx 01-12-2003 07:34 PM

Heh cool Redhawk, where in the valley are you? I live up north in Prince George.

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 07:39 PM

I live in the West, in Langley, which is actully more a part of the Lower Mainland than the Fraser Valley

Pyro 01-12-2003 08:05 PM

Innoxx 01-12-2003 08:05 PM

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 08:19 PM

I wonder why it did that eek:

Innoxx 01-12-2003 08:19 PM

Bahaha! I love that guy.

redhawk_six 01-12-2003 08:20 PM

There are a lot of clips of him on Kazaa, and I downloaded them all biggrin:

Innoxx 01-12-2003 08:23 PM

Yeah, I seen him on Just For Laughs, funny guy.

Pyro 01-12-2003 09:06 PM

I've been to BC 3 times, all to visit my aunt who lived there three years till she moved to Ontario.

ninty 01-12-2003 10:18 PM

No, I don't think he should resign.

Innoxx 01-12-2003 10:41 PM

Care to eleborate?

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 12:01 AM

Damnit! He's not resigning! mad:
This means he's just gonna go on screwing up our province cry:

And, yes ninty9, could you eleborate?

ninty 01-13-2003 12:43 AM

Not really.

All I can say is I don't see how people can judge others when do the same things. You temm me you've never driven drunk before. I bet 90% of the population has. And he got caught. Tough break for him.

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 10:09 AM

No, I've never driven drunk, I don't drink.

And if any other person were to be charged with drunk driving, they would probably lose their job, why shouldn't he?

Bazooka_Joe 01-13-2003 11:38 AM

Drunk Driving = Reckless endangerment, so yah, I think he should resign. Bad for his image.

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 12:25 PM

Not only is it bad for HIS image, it's bad for the province's image.

Ad I just htought of something, what are the chances of Vancouver getting the olympics if our premier has a conviction for drunk driving!!!!

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 12:30 PM

I just found out a piece of "interesting" info.
BC has not had a premier serve a whole term (one election to the next) in almost 20 years, they have either been fired, resigned, or lost there position after losing a party leadership vote.

Zoner 01-13-2003 01:04 PM

I don't think he should resign. He's human. Humans screw up. I don't think his ability to run the province is hampered by this.

However, he should be made to put a lot of his time into community service by going to schools and talking to kids about drinking & driving. He could turn a very big negative into a positive.

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 01:31 PM

Here's something to consider:
What if he wasn't the premier, what if he was a school bus driver or something like that?
I bet everyone here would want to see him fired then.
So, why should we hold the leader of the province of British Columbia up to lower standards than a bus driver?

Innoxx 01-13-2003 01:45 PM

Yes, he's a fucking politician for christ's sake, he has alot of resposibility. What is with BC and political corruption?

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 01:48 PM

I know, it's strange.
The fast ferries, the Glen Clark trial and now this.
Why do we keep electing corupt morons to lead our province?

Innoxx 01-13-2003 01:49 PM

because we are corrupt morons ourselves (well, I am).

redhawk_six 01-13-2003 05:20 PM

*innocent look* Oh, I'm not corupt angel: , or am I mwah:

Art Attack 01-13-2003 05:56 PM

Well I was watching CNN last night(i'm hooked to that channel) he said he ain't gonna step down!

redhawk_six 01-14-2003 06:23 PM

Yeah, I know, it sucks.
But, I heard a political scientist interviewed on the radio, he thinks that eventully he will have to leave officer. The political scientist said that, in his opinion, the mug shot photo will be the "last image" of his premier-ship.
